Description
Shielding themselves from the cold, he was keeping her warm.
Nature tried to wear them down, but he knew he had to be the brick for her to rely on.
Commission for JayNut featuring Raven and BeastBoy from his Teen Titans AU.
Here I am again with this new experimental style.
It's still not on point and needs to be worked out more, so I'm really grateful for the chance he gave me to try this with his commission.

Other than that, I just really hoped I brought on the right atmosphere. I didn't want to go full-blizzard because you wouldn't be able to see them. Or they would be buried in snow. >_> Now that would be a cheesy way out of drawing a two characters comm.

I was both surprised and confused by this piece because I didn't know the context. I still don't really know the context because I'm not aware of where the original commissioner's Role-play thread may reside, if it's even public. I can of course guess at some aspects. This looks to me to be a post-apocalyptic scenario, given the Earthy garments, but also the robotic arm on Beast-boy. I will also give a guess that neither of them have their powers anymore, as I can't imagine it would be easy for Beast Boy to transform with a metal arm attached to him, and any animal he would change into would also have a missing limb. And, if he can't use his powers, perhaps Raven can't either. I do like the pairing between them, always have, even with the short flirt BB had with Terra.
As for the art itself, I really like the line-work on the cloth and the hair. It reminds me a bit of the way I ink, although your hands are better drawn than mine, lol. I think the background, while perhaps a bit too blurry, does work well in this piece; not so much in the "B-Bathing" piece; I think because here you can infer the shape of tree trunks with snow intermixed on the ground, whereas the other piece uses smudgy brushes to approximate tree leaves and water plants. It doesn't achieve the same level of success as the background does here.
The fire is also nice, good soft glow. Unlike "B-Bathing," though, it would have been nice to see some highlighted edges towards the fire, and a rim-light to the right reacting to moon-light, perhaps with slightly darker hues towards the middle of their bodies, using a soft brush. Although I can tell there is some subtle soft shading going on.
Overall, I really like the mood that's being set here. It's a very tender moment which I think can resonate with a lot of people because of how you executed it. Excellently done.

It seems that it is getting cold in Siberia ... where they are at at the moment XD. Haven´t thought about that you wouldn´t really see them in a full on blizzard, soooo good choice from you there.
