See my journal for more details. To summarize though, I am giving my followers the chance to choose a new character for the Ranma of Mars comic based entirely on sketch alone! Can you tell me who or what you think this character is?I will cheat a little bit on this one. I told the artist to take visual elements from Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars and smoosh them together. I know I'm going to get people saying "Isn't that just Sailor Moon?" *sighs* Already regretting this one on a certain level.

A fusion of Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars? Nice combo! At any rate, I really like her design the most out of those you've sent us thus far, and hope we get to see more of her in story. I have some ideas for who she could be, BUT, for now I will stick to just a couple, namely ones that don't call attention to her Sailor Scout inspired appearance. However, DO let me know if you don't mind me suggesting something that would try to draw actual ties to Sailor Moon, I just figured you may prefer it if I didn't but do correct me if I'm wrong XD.
1) She is a brand new breakthrough for the Martian Slavetrade, one that could change the face of the industry forever. Rather than being a human or alien girl who was kidnapped and specially conditioned to be a slave for potential buyers, she is instead the first of what could become a successful line of mass produced genetically engineered clones instead! Artificially aged to her most desirable physical prime, and programmed to be the perfect companion for the most amorous and wealthy of potential buyers, she represents a "bold new future" for slavers who no longer wish to waste time and money on training and breaking random captured individuals who may require excessive amounts of hard work to make ready for the open market, only to end up failing to live up to expectations, i.e. what happened when several of Ranma's friends went rogue, two running away and the other overthrowing her incompetent slave mistress altogether. This particular model represents a "high class customized" job of course, meaning that she's much more impressive than the cheap mass produced lookalike models that they could sell to poorer, lower class clientele, but that means that those wealthy enough to afford her and those like her could choose what their ideal servant could look and act like from the very beginning & thus have their own customized servant ready, willing, and waiting for them if they are willing to pay for it.
I like this potential background because she could be seen as either a MAJOR money making opportunity for people like Shampoo or Kodachi and any number of other slaves in the world setting of "Ranma of Mars," OR seen as a seriously threat to their income that must be put a stop to at all costs. You could have slaves vying for the opportunity to become financial backers for this new "product line" or to be the first to buy her specifically for their own harems or slave markets, and or go about seeking to sabotage or copy the technology that created her so they don't get left behind in a world where Martians want mass produced, customizable slaves in place of the "old fashioned ones."
I'd code name her "Fire Bunny" or "Luna Deimos" personally, as a reference to Sailor Moon & Mars, but you could leave her nameless or come up with one of your own since she's your character obviously. I picture her personality as being either cute & friendly like Usagi or fiery and sassy like Mars depending on what the client prefers, like her personality can change on a dime, OR that she acts very much like one of the Alpha Quadrant Jemhadar from DS9, in that she's very proud and haughty because she KNOWS she's a "better breed" of slave from the regular stock, and isn't afraid to express it when amongst those like Ranma's friends.
2) She is in fact the one true Princess of Mars and one of the masterminds behind, or the actual mastermind, behind the slave trade, i.e. Shampoo's boss and Kodachi's former boss. She rules from one high from one of the moons of Mars, preferring her privacy and to be as far away from the "peasantry" as possible, but returns to Mars itself for special occasions. Despite dressing in what could be mistaken for slave attire she is actually just an exhibitionist who prefers to have her flawless figure on display for all to worship and envy at all times, OR maybe she masquerades as a slave when on Mars so no one will recognize her, protected by her most powerful and loyal bodyguards at all times.

An ordinary janitor for the moon empire (that's the janitorial uniform) when they discovered a strange artifact on one of Mars' moons, a red stone marker. it drove everyone mad and Isaac Clarke Musagi Tatsunoko had to fight her way through hordes of reanimated corpse-monsters using only her space mop, high heels, and janitorial gear. Only she survived but her mind is no longer safe, for the marker changes all.

I just figured, if it's not sailor moon, maybe everyone in the moon kingdom looks like that, even their janitors. and when I think space janitors I think Dead Space.

A Sailor Scout from an alternate universe. Driven mad by a powerful alien force she was tricked through a dimensional portal by her desperate former comrades and enemies when she proved to powerful to kill. She arrived on Mars unconscious, was captured by slavers, and her memories were erased during the reprogramming.
Unknown to everyone it would be a very bad thing if her memories returned.

No. It actually would have seemed pretty different in color. However, I get why that didn't come across in the sketch.

A brainwashed human slave girl. Given that we already saw the Sailor Scouts before, this isn't one of them. Maybe this girl was dressed as one of the Scouts when she was abducted, and her likeness to the Scouts was probably what got her sold.
