Again, no long description. Like 'Open Water,' this is in the same style somewhat in addition to location. I'm also quite tired from all that writing and should save it for more significant photos anyway

amazingly beautiful..the kind of shot I love...the quality of light is superb..the various textures of the clouds works well contrebalancing the lines of the pieces of woods and the birds adds to the magic of the scene...fantastic

did u obtein with color balance or curve?

The tone was through adding a bit of red and yellow to midtones in a color balance layer, and then lowering the opacity significantly until it was a very subtle brown/yellow.

One technical question though...how did you the gulls stay still and sharp for a 30 second exposure?

You tell me! They really just stood there for all 30 seconds. It was rather remarkable - I didn't do any Photochopping to get that, that's just how they came out.

hold on, I need help understanding this. Ok, looks like a 30 second exposure, is that right? And the birds didnt move? at all? I've been wanting to get an IR lens, any suggestions?

Yes. The birds didn't move. For 30 seconds - and yes, I know that's strange.
I assume you mean IR filter - best bang for buck is the Hoya R72.

Very red. Slightly pinkish too.
It was shot in infrared
If it were normal, it'd be a pretty bland looking, dark green and washed blue sky.
And the water wouldn't look all misty.
If I did color infrared, it wouldn't look like anything special...

Wow mate... Those seaguls a really frozen mate!!! 30 seconds of expossure and the seaguls still there!!! I assure they are still there!
