On TumblrIf you haven't been touched by this scene, you probably have no heart. It must have been painted dozens of times since the episode aired, so this isn't really anything new. Still wanted to paint it myself, though. I also needed a break from a multi-Doctor piece I've been working on, so yeah. Might get back to it, but I'm leaving it be for now.

Seeing so much wonderful art from the new season makes me even more frustrated that it hasn't aired in New Zealand yet. I don't think we're getting it for another few weeks, which is really annoying.

I'd probably have to wait for years before they'd air the new series over here, I'd go nuts. I just do what most people do: download each episode as they come out and later get the boxset

Hahaha I've been tempted to do that, but it uses too much internet and I prefer watching things like Sherlock and Doctor Who with Dad. I heard somewhere that we're actually getting it on Sunday, so not too much longer to wait!

I loved (and sniffled at) this scene, but REALLY wish they hadn't used that particular phrase, since it was already an annoyingly overused cliche over a decade ago. Makes me roll my eyes every time they use it, which is NOT what I want distracting me from my favorite characters in my favorite show, especially in the best ose/emo scenes, dammit!
What's next, John saying "You bet your bippy!", Mycroft quipping "D'oh!" or Molly snarling "I'll be bahk!" in a bad Austrian accent?

I have seen a couple of sketches, NONE of them come close to this. This is the best so far. Honestly, I suspect that everyone who wants to paint this properly is still crying into their couch cushions.Β I swear, I heard the snap when my heart broke at this point.
In other news, looking forward to that multi-Doctor piece when you feel ready to get back to it. You do faces SO beautifully, and the lighting - ah, the lighting! Masterful.

Yes, that must be it. It was a heartbreaking scene, am terrified of what the last episode might have in stores for us. I suspect more crying into couch cushions will be in order.

My only regret is that the final (or so I've been told) episode is this weekend, and I won't be able to have my Sherlock and watch him too. I will be crying into my couch cushions if for no other reason than that. But I did see on twitter that the ep was shown to a test audience and they cheered, so that's hopeful!
