I really like this, especially how you worked the war paint into the face. The glints of light in the eyes are a great touch, too; you expect those eyes to start moving. I once saw an adult chimp, up close, at a Chicago zoo. I learned right there to forget those sweet banana eaters in the Disney movies. We're talking about a very powerful animal, and I think you portrait of Caesar conveys that!

Thank you! I think the thing that made Caesar a little odd in the first ( new ) movie and in this one was the fact that you can see the whites of his eyes, which you can't in a normal chimp. I'm guessing that was part of the genetic modification, and to make him look more intelligent.

I never knew that about his eyes. The genetic modifying agent that also boosted Caesar's intelligence could be used to explain that. Artistically speaking, it could have been to 'humanize' him a bit and make his expressions more understandable.

Yeah I think it was probably your latter explanation but the film makers would have you believe it was your first explanation that it happened
