You can actually mod a GBA to have it include backlights.

Lol, the GBA is still the favorite portable Nintendo systems for me, even if it didn't have a back light. I loved the design and colors for it.

I didn't think of that until this...now I will never be able to stop. XD The GBA's impossible-to-see screen and the price of both types is why initially I just went with the Game Boy Player for my Gamecube...
