Description To demonstrate the parameter set, responsible for the transmission effect, I chose a swimming pool.
Here you see the result of using two very different values for the "transmitted measurement distance". This value corresponds to the distance, the light is able to reach before it fades to darkness. Or for divers: How far can you see under water.

So this effect is the useful one for light shining through thin body parts.
