Description Late assignment for , Team alces~

First of all, my english will probably feel... Awkward at some (most) points. But I hope the answers are still clear.

Anyone, feel free to slap me and correct any typos or mistakes.

Am I proud of my influences, or embarrassed? Why?
If they were embarrassing I dont't think they'd inspire me. I'd get ashamed of making them noticeable through my works

Do my influences feel relevant to who I am right now?
Absolutely.

Do I want them to be more, or less obvious in my work?
In one word, balance. Those influences had helped me shape my style, so in a way they're "obvious". But I try to keep independence from them.

Who are my favorite artists? Does their work influence me?
They do. Most of them are shown in this deviation.
Keith Thompson is my favourite artist and I think he influences me the most, although that might not be obvious. He seems to come up with a whole story behind each of his works and they're always very appealing to me. Even his undead designs seem startlingly lively to me, pretty awesome. xD

Why are they your favorites? What are their weaknesses?
When gathering their names to this assignment I realized all of them share some use of mystic elements and symbolism in most of their paintings. And well, I like this kind of stuff. As for weaknesses, their styles/techniques are so different that it is hard for me to try to point any shared faults.

... In other words I'm a sucker for them :I

Who are my least favorite artists? Why? What is about about their work I really want to avoid? What are their strengths?
(I'll make a quick rant about general styles instead)
I like to see hints from the artist's own personality or creativity in a drawing, and not just feel like the person is copying their favorite manga/comic/whatever forever. I think it is possible, sometimes, to notice when a person "questions" their inspirations instead of just mimicking them, otherwise the artwork might feel just flat and boring and this really bothers me.
Its quite hard to please me with anime and the standard western comic style.

Choose 5 traits you would like to see in your work/ Choose 5 traits you want to avoid forever.
1- Gotta improve my overall technique, man. (values, color theory, proportions... the list goes on)
2 - Better planning. I should really spend more time organizing ideas/processes before drawing. This makes a HUGE difference in the final works. xD
3 - Storytelling. I try to set up a bg story to all my drawings and I like to think that this is noticeable.
4 - BACKGROUNDS.
5 - The ultimate praise for me is people wanting to live in the places/befriend the folks I draw. When someone says something like that I feel pretty much accomplished in life, so, um, I guess I want my works to be capable of causing this kind of feeling?

(I want to write an essay on this question but maybe its better if I just resume things here. )

Therefore, if I could, I'd avoid making my drawings look lifeless, "lazy", chaotic (without a proper process), or look like I didn't put any effort into them.

What do you want to do with art?
I barely know what to do with myself. ._. Improving my art in the meantime doesn't sound like a bad idea so yea.

Why "semi-realism"?
Because I think my style fits (or attempts to fit) into it.
