Gus walked home again, and he realized the same problem he has every day after work; He was bored. He didn't have anything to do, so he just decided he would clean up. When searching in his cabinet in the backroom, he stumbled into something... Ah-hah! The Lion King! He had completely forgot about that, but he was happy to stumble into it, not only did it give him something to entertain himself with, but it reminded him that he owned it and he could watch one of his favorites anytime!

Cleaning could wait. Gus was bored and this was well deserved after a stressful day. He walked up to his old VHS and popped it in. A little dusty but it fit right in, though hopefully it's age wouldn't cause any problems later.

The screen turned on as Gus sat himself down on his couch. The screen was definitely working so all was good, but then... static. The annoying sound caught Gus off guard, as he walked up to the tape to see what the problem was. "Ah..." he whispered to himself. "Maybe this tape is too old..." As Gus leaned down to try reinserting it, he heard a sudden ripping sound.

Even more annoyed, as already Gus knew something happened to one of his clothes, he looked behind himself, and saw a part of his pants on the floor. But then he saw... a tail? No... Gus had to be seeing something else, and he would prove it to himself by trying to grab it, then he realized, this tail was his! It couldn't be!

Panicked and not sure what to do, Gus looked ahead again, only to be shocked that he had three toes, all of which were bigger then usual too. "What is this?!" He nearly screamed. They were a dark brown color, and when he touched them, Gus realised that dark brown color was because they were covered in fur; the front end of his toes in a dark brown and the rest in a tan yellow color. He looked back at his tail in confusion, and as it grew bigger, it was clearly a very stable tail, not a flimsy one, but it was sturdy and could easily be stood erect. It also had the same dark brown color from his toes at it's tip.

Gus' knee and arm structure grew weak, but still able to function. They became skinnier as a result, and were shortly after taken over by fur, as Gus discovered the hard way when he pulled his sleeves down and his pants up to check a strange itching in those areas. As he took his shirt off, he felt a relief. "Much better." Gus' hands soon followed a similar color palette as those of his feet, with dark brown digits and the same fur color as most of his body on his palms.

Unable to stand the itching his little predicament was causing, Gus lifted his shirt off, just in time to see fur engulf his whole body. His middle section became a lighter tan color, and triangular shaped patterns appeared on his sides.

"Somebody help me! What's even happening?" Gus cried out, though he lived alone.

The primary fur color that now covered Gus' all-meerkat body started to reach his head, and the lighter tan on his chest also covered an area around his mouth. His Dark black hair started to dissapear, almost like it melted, and became brighter as it did so. Gus attempted to touch it, as it clearly was shorter now. "My... hair..!" He exclaimed. His hair finished as an orange redish color, and covered far less of his head now. His eyes became bigger and almost cartoon like, losing their sky blue color and becoming a simple black and white. His nose became bigger as well, and flatter and rounder. It looked like a button asking to be pressed at the front of his face. His ears also became bigger and shifted to a floppier state, where they lie sideways more often and became more flexible.

It seemed like the changes had stopped, and Gus about opened his mouth, but then suddenly the world became dark... He moved his hands, grabbing the mountain around him that was him own clothes!

Not sure where to start after climbing out of his clothes, Gus looked at The Lion King VHS that was practically as large as him. Up close, he could see now that he looked awfully familiar to himself.

"Huh...?! I'm-m, It's, It's just like Timons!" A short pause ensued. "But I-I'm a human..." "What the..?!!?!?" Gus was shocked after hearing his voice as it began to change. It sounded like a wisecracking middle aged New Yorker! But that thought barely registered in his new furry head, as suddenly everything shifted around him, and he felt like he was being vacuumed...

His own TV pulled him into a new animated world, and Gus' mind became cluttered. He felt full of a million thoughts, and as his eyes cleared up, he saw a familiar warthog.

Gus could swear he recognized that pig, but he couldn't open his mouth before his eyes started to swirl... and yet again his vision degraded. Gus became hypnotized by the warthog. On a path not far from a familiar structure, Gus followed the warthog, but not by choice. His human mind slowly left him, and although he screamed as best he could, his body kept walking, and his eyes swirled more until they reached the familiar structure: Pride Rock.

On the trip there, Gus could barely think straight even though his mind started to open once more, though eyes still swirling. The Warthog noticeably opened his mouth. "You will repeat after me." The Warthog casually said.

"Yes, I will." The tiny Meerkat managed to respond.

"You are Timon."

"I am Timon."

"You are a Meerkat."

"I am a Meerkat."

"You live in the Pride Lands."

"I live in the Pride Lands."

"You are the best friend of me, Pumbaa the warthog."

"I am the best friend of Pumbaa the warthog."

"You are a friend of Simbas."

"I am a friend of Simbas."

As the warthog continued, Gus mind became clearer, like he could finally think to himself.

"You have been best friends with me for a long time."

"I have been best friends with you for a long time."

"Of course." Gus followed up with in his mind.

"You were never a human named Gus."

"I was never a human named Gus."

Gus pondered on that thought. He was right... What kind of name was Gus? Why would he ever have that stupid name? How could a meerkat ever be a human? What is a human anyway? He subconsciously caught up with what his best friend Pumbaa had said to him after he finished his thoughts about that stupid name.

"You have always been a meerkat."

"I have always been a meerkat." Of course he had been, why wouldn't he be?

"Hakuna Matata..." Pumbaa finished.

Those words echoed in Timons mind, almost as if he had heard them before. "Hakuna Matata..."

"What a wonderful phrase..." Pumbaa continued. "

"What a wonderful phrase..." Timon repeated, almost as if he wanted to be singing it...

"Ain't no passing craze..."

"Ain't no passing craze..."

"It means no worries for the rest of your days..."

Right. "It means no worries for the rest of my days." Timon continued to repeat, and things started to feel more natural.

"It's your problem free philosophy..."

"It's my problem free philosophy..."

"Hakuna Matata!"

Timons eyes finally stopped swirling, and he leaped forward onto his good friend Pumbaa, guiding him ahead up to pride rock. Just like any other day for Timon and his best friend!

"What a wonderful phrase! Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze! It means no worries, for the rest of your days! It's our problem free philosophy!"

"Hakuna Matata!"
