Kinda want to read an AU fanfic where Steven doesn't inherit his mother's gem, rather she just gives birth to him and keeps existing. And then when Blue and Yellow arrive, she shapeshifts into her true self and introduces them to her son.

That was ours, one of the biggest plots twists in the history of recent animations. I think everything has changed now, gone to another level, old theories confirmed and new being formed. On the one hand this was totally unexpected at this stage of the drawing, by another means that disenchanted some fans Rose Quartzoso never existed, there was never a revolutionary leader who wanted to end the tyranny of DIAMONDS and their cruel and selfish model to exist.

Not to mention that this ends up leaving us in doubt of the motivations of Rose Quartzo, pardon of the Pink Diamond, if you notice you will notice that now this is a kind of criticism of the heroes and their idealization, besides leaving things in a shade of gray , it's not all black in white. But that Rebecca managed to make everyone wonder what she left, what will the Crystal Gems do? What will Greg think?

For Gems it will be difficult to forgive and accept what the Rose Quartz did, especially for Garnet it will be very difficult for her to forgive the Rose Quartz, she was very affected by it. We saw in "Your Mother and Mine" how much she really idolized Rose Quartz. Finding out that her story was a lie and that Pearl's free will has been set aside to keep this lie going to hurt her a lot.

It will probably hurt even more to know that if she had been informed of the plan in advance, Garnet's future vision might have been extremely helpful in averting the approaching catastrophe (the corruption of the Gems by the other three Diamonds). Do you remember the zoo? Rose put those humans there. Presumably to protect them is later to rescue them, she regrets it, but simply abandoned them there. Well, at least the humans looked happy. Did she really want to be free on earth and take her stones away from the ruthless regime of the Diamonds, or did she just want to run away from her sisters?
