Description I had only a macro lens with me so I took a short video clip of the flood, instead of a panoramic picture. Normally the water level is really low but now it licks almost my boots. Well, almost. And when I mean low I mean it's so low that there's probably water up to your knees.

Feel free to use if you like. It's not so great iPhone capture.

Oooh damn, that water is high!   I hope it doesn't get any higher!    It's scary when we think about it,.. what nature, when it gets out of hand, the damage it can do (in terms of destruction and such.. )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AneurysmGuy In reply to LindArtz [2020-01-19 12:21:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, we'll see. It should get colder this week but it could be just a temporary thing. So the water level might start to get lower, or then not. When nature shows it's power, it's not a laughing matter.

Yeah. It's not a laughing matter at all; quite frightening actually.

What time of year is this taken?

AneurysmGuy In reply to QueenslandChris [2020-01-17 12:22:37 +0000 UTC]

I took it today, January. And I've never seen this much water on this brook, not even springtime.

It this normal temperature for January in Finland? I would expect...I don't know...ice flows.

No, it’s here on the west and south region warmer than normally. Rated by meteorological standards our Winter haven’t even started.

I wonder what's up. I've a common friend in Germany who told me it is unusual warm there too..no snow yet.

AneurysmGuy In reply to QueenslandChris [2020-01-17 13:29:04 +0000 UTC]

Wasn't last year the warmest that had globally recorded? Somebody left the thermostat on probably.
Our winters have changed during the last 30 years, less and less snow and warmer.

I'm not sure mate. I'm wondering about some of these reports. Especially since the fires. One was reporting temps here of 40c ...was he standing in the bloody fire? I'm thinking some are using this to push their own agendas.

AneurysmGuy In reply to QueenslandChris [2020-01-20 15:02:49 +0000 UTC]

Last year was actually second warmest, it was on our news this weekend.
But you didn't have hight temperatures there, I do remember that we were told that there was even higher temps than that. Something like the hottest day ever. I doubt that, our winters have changed during the last 30 years, on the north it's still snow and cold still but not here anymore.

QueenslandChris In reply to AneurysmGuy [2020-01-20 21:58:35 +0000 UTC]

It is high summer here and not cool but 40c is rare. I've been wondering about the cycle of axial shift.

Well, I didn't read those articles really thru, so I might have connected facts on mind instead of reading them.
I read about that too, north pole (magnetic) is moving rapidly to the east or something. How funny it would've been if the pole expeditions would have happened when the poles have rapidly sifted their place. They would've chased them and left hundreds marks on the ice where the pole had been.
I read Stephen Hawking's biography and I did learn that the Hawking radiation is a real thing and not invented by the Star Trek writers.
