Heh heh heh...Now I'm really wondering what has Shinji so spooked. Knowing him, it could range from an approaching Angel to someone shouting "Boo!" in the next room.

It could be anything, or maybe he didn't realize he jumped into her arms. Then he realized and was too spooked to turn around and look at her and her scary face.
