Description A gift for , following conversations between me and him in the past (along with this status post ) about him wanting to see a living Thylacine. As such, I decided to do this.

Some time back, Earth-United recovered and completed the construction of a prototype Majestic device during Operation Fallout (a cleanup operation to fully dismantle what remained of Majestic, salvage weapons and technology to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands and discover anything that may be of positive future use.) known as "The Hunting Zone ".
The Hunting Zone itself was stored away when the Majestic War broke out, with the device been a digital simulation portal that could recreate any environment as well as the beings/creatures who lived in it. Furthermore, anything created within the simulation could be brought through into the real world, due to the portal been able to convert digital data into physical matter.

According to the databank entry about the device that Earth United salvaged, Majestic planned to use it to create new soldiers and monsters to fight for them that could be created within minutes. In Earth-United's hands, however, the portal would serve a different use.
The portal was re-designed to serve as a general 'hunting zone' to test Earth-United's forces in combat, with warriors who entered it been able to battle various creatures from Earth's past and under different circumstances. Furthermore, some of the creatures could be brought back into the real world to be used for food or to be studied, as the creatures - due to been made in a digital simulation - do not have any illnesses or diseases that can be brought over.

While exploring Earth-United to understand more about the facility, Stash came across the Hunting Zone and decided to give it a try - journeying to Australia in the past and encountering several prehistoric animals. One of the species he encountered was the Thylacine and, knowing it was destined to become extinct at humanity's hands and that human scientists were trying to bring it back, managed to gain the trust of a small group and bring them through the Hunting Zone's portal into the modern day.
Now, Earth-United keeps the group brought back (with some breeding having taken place), with the plan to slowly reintroduce them back into Australia in the near future to give the impression that they'd survived and simply been effective at hiding.
Stash, meanwhile, has tamed some of the group and is able to interact with them without fear of harm.

Hope you like it.

I've thought about future people bringing back extinct species through time travel, but that always raises the question of whether the very act of bringing back a breeding population to the present is what caused the original extinction, thanks to a loss of genetic diversity when the animals needed it.

Yeah, that could potentially be an issue.

In regards to the Thylacine, I hope the scientists working on cloning it manage to succeed in bringing it back and keeping it alive.

Well some people are still reporting sightings in certain places, with a few videos here and there - so they might not be extinct yet.

If these turn out to be fake, I just hope the Thylacine cloning project that currently underway is successful.

I made the Thylacine in this picture using this: Tasmanian Wolf Maker
If you want, you can make and save a picture of your own Thylacine using it before uploading it to your own profile (but remember to credit - as he made the game).
