I thought of this title while I was listening to Lana Del Rey's Ride. Weird. XD I've had this piece for several months and I finally found the inspiration to finish it. WHOOT! ;u; I've never drawn gore before, so I did my best. LMAO! I hope it doesn't look too bad. I wanted to focus more on the tragedy of this piece. I've always found Steve's death so sad. He's probably one of my favorite RE characters aside from Ada Wong.

Great job illustrating the gore! The fact that you didn't shy away from that makes this one of my more favorite ClaireXSteve pics (your pic of their airplane makeout session is also up there, for the record!). The way she's holding him, and not bothered at all by the blood...it bleeds affection. Sorry, bad pun, I know, but I couldn't help myself. Honestly, I'm really a fan of this and how you drew it.

Agreed!!! <3 I felt like Steve's death has been so underrated. From the very start, Steve was emotionally messed up and he was resistant to forming bonds. Then, along comes a pretty girl and he is attracted to her, but he finds out how much of a badass she is and that she's willing to put her neck out for him and save his ass. I feel that the character development for Steve's character is practically unmatched in RE. Nah, I checked the original scene. He wasn't just pushed. ROFL. I saw dark red on his side when you see Claire kneeling to him. It sucks that Capcom never gave me a good ref, though. LMAO!

Well, it is often refered as the saddest scene in the series at least. But yeah, I agree with you that he has the best character development.
What I like about the original scene is how intimate it is....the enclosed space, the really low lighting, the soft music, how Claire just falls on her knees and reaches for him with a trembling hand. The way Steve says "You're warm" always melts my heart ;__; if he weren't dying, it could have been a really romantic scene XD this is what lacks in the Darkside scene, Chris being there and all XD but what saves it is how they look in each other's eyes, and how Steve caresses her face and lip, and how Claire actually does it too after (it's very subtle, I'm sure a lot of people didn't notice XD) It's a really intense moment in both games, but the original remains the best <3
and yes, about the blood, you can also see some splurting when the tentacle hits him.

Yess ;___; I remember popping my VHS with all the Code Veronica recorded cutscenes whevener I would turn on my father's computer and watch that scene almost every day XD
LOL yeah, Chris...the only positive thing I see about it is that he actually got to see Steve alive this time. So he can't think that his sister is hallucinating being with a boy XD
Yeah, I don't know which exchange I prefer the most though. In Darkside, Claire is more desperate and somehow hopeful while in the original, she seems more defeated and in disbelief.
Waaaat?? You didn't see it? I guess I watched that scene too many times XD I think I caught it the second time I watched it, because I was too excited and emotional when I saw it the first time
