Personality: He is generally good-natured but not very empathetic (way he was brought up). He commands respect or authority without trying too hard, but shuns leadership and responsibility. He is very glib, something he developed over time after being a salesman, and can make people trust him fairly easily. He likes having a "cool" image and prefers when people approach him first, unless he's working.Appearance: He has magenta hair and gold eyes (common in mages from his lineage). His build is on the skinny/slim side as most of his exercise is just walking (a lot). His clothes are generally neat and quite polished, giving him a professional appearance, but when not working he tends to dress like an old man lol (he claims it's old school/ vintage and it's cool).Abilities: He's very well-versed in dark magic, specifically of illusory or nightmare-inducing magic. He cannot hold his own in a fight, physically, as he never really learned how to wield a weapon. Despite this, he would be a good ally in battle, because his magic is incredibly strong. His healing and protective magic is passable to him personally, and is of a decent standard to others due to his innate power.Back Story: Edan was born into a reputably nefarious family, but was sent away to live with his aunt when his parents' financial status dipped. Unbeknownst to his parents, his aunt had married a mage who dealt mostly with white magic and had strayed away from the "family business". Edan was inculcated with their principles and grew up not really involved in the nefarious activities his family was famous for. He is also aware of his lineage and so, feels conflicted about the expectations the rest of the family has for him, and what his aunt taught him.

He traveled to the city several hundreds of miles away (where Reve, Chun and Sei are) to avoid the prying questions of his family. He now actively works to mitigate the effects of his family's activities. To maintain his cover as a 'dark mage' and to earn money, however, he sells vaguely bad potions (that caused temporary nightmares), or small dark spells. Rumours about a traveling "salesman" soon spread across the city and its surrounding towns, and he has gained himself a small and ambiguous reputation.

Edan specializes in dark magic, specifically in illusions and nightmares. There are two main kinds of dark magic; the first kind is magic released in huge bursts and requires elaborate rituals and blood of the mage. The second is magic used in small amounts, for minor magic acts or for maintenance (e.g. a large-scale illusion being maintained with regular small amounts of magic).

He uses his magic for battle, at the request of people who pay, or purely for mischief. He's not a bad person; he was born into a lineage of dark magic and is dealing with it how he sees fit. Trivia: ✣ basically his family is like a nationwide criminal organization and he's the odd duck out
✣ he can give people nightmares, something not all dark mages can do because it's hard to mess with inactive minds
✣ he meets Sei when Sei saves him from a demon outside the city, and Sei enlists his help to try and "cure" Reve
✣ faint freckles all over his back
✣ he and Chun are almost opposites, and clash because of that
✣ working on getting more powerful so he can make some real change
