The perfectly mismatched duo were wandering around a park then it started to rain, a lot. In a mad dash to find shelter Rita came across a den big enough for the both of them.
"Rain, rain, go away" Rita sang bitterly as she shake her fur dry, only to have Runt follow suit getting her wet again.
"The rain is not all that bad Rita, yup definitely not all bad." the dog said with a goofy grin on his face, Rita rolled her eyes at Runt's statement while she was wringing out her tail.
The cat than sat near the den's opening staring at the rain. "Well it looks like today is shot." Rita shivered a bit "Guess we'll stay here til the rain stop"
Suddenly Rita felt a pair of white paws pulling her in. "Runt, what are you doing?" The cat asked deadpanning as she try to get out of his grip.
"You look cold Rita, definitely cold." The dog said happily, Rita stop attempting to escape. "Uh...well.... thank you." the cat replied quietly then she nestled herself in Runt's arms. The dog had a big dopey grin, he leaned his head down and nuzzled it on Rita's letting out a happy whine as he did.
Rita smiled softly and purred contently.
