Description Talking about lame titles... Ahem.

This piece was drawn for a Tomb Raider contest. It could be better, obviously. It always can be better, for there is no limit for perfection(c), right? But looking back at what I was doing two years ago and what I am doing now, I can safely say: "I am heading there!"

The core of idea was Lara who for once is not drawn kicking someone's ass or being at an edge. Miss Croft is not only about that, she has human feelings(as much as VG character can have human feelings. >.> ) She can get tired and can have a relief once the job is done.

With great tips from D-NA I managed, perhaps first time in my life, to draw a background.(well, aside of those shameful Star Wars drawings I was doing 5 years ago and that will be forever hidden from public eye XD)

Color scheme is a bit 'candy-unicorns and love' but I am really tired of the 'safe-neutral-calm' colors I was using most of the time since I got my tablet and my eyes long for a rainbow. XD

I like it. I really do. But wasn't one of the rules of the competition supposed to be "all pictures must be hand drawn. Nothing digital." Because this kind of looks computer edited :/. No I'm serious! It's a really really nice picture and don't take me the wrong way. I'm just stating that's one of the rules.

Thank you ^^ Actually the drawing had been drawn for completely other competition, almost three years ago. Didn't win but it was nice to draw something that has background and get to know Photoshop a bit more.
And you are right, for the current official competition only traditional media has to be used. I am still thinking if I should create something. But I am way too bad with anything that is not simple pencil. And even then I am still kind of... lame, haha.

Haha, no probs. Oh, you are joining? Whacha have in mind?(I promise I won't steal your idea. Unless my idea was already the same as yours but even then you are totally entitled to not tell me anything, hehe)

By the way, the competition is till the end of May, right? I have to be honest, I did not want to enter at first since I am yet to really like the whole Reboot idea but then I saw the other swag, my greedy little fingers spider senses tingled. XD

Well, if you PROMISE not to steal my work. (if you do I will catch you and report you. So basically you're not gonna get away with it so there's no point in trying lol. Sorry. Trying to be cruel to be kind ) Anyway, the pics will be more likely to win if it mensions the new 2012 Lara. So, Ima draw that Lara, and a young Kurtis from my fanfic Kurtis Origins. And yeah I hope the reboot wont be too bad. I mean it's square enix, and that's one of my fav game companies. So we'll see. It's just silly CD tends to mess up good stories every now and then. I think the gameplay and graphics will be top notch! I'm just hoping for a good story really. I'd ADORE it if they made another game with Kurtis in it one day. But knowing them, they wont. So oh well. :/

Who do you think I am? I don't steal people's ideas So ha, no reporting me today Oh, it is nice that you'll draw Kurtis. Don't think many people (if any) would do that. So the best luck to you ^^ To be honest, the only TR game I ever truly liked was AoD. An accident of buying a wrong disk in 2004 opened a gaming world for me, haha. Though Core TR games are definitely good for that Indiana Jones feel (though Uncharted pretty much took all the spotlight for Indiana Jones-like games for me) I love SE, and you can never expect bad graphics from them, gonna be top notch in that area, pretty sure of it. What I am not sure about is the whole direction the game is taking.... I am not really a fan of survival-type games with more weird twisted horror rather then pure fun artifact-finding asskicking. I have to admit I liked Lara as she used to be then - an indestructible heroine with giant boobage that does impossible backflips over spikes in creepy tombs. I am not sure about that teenage girl that cries and aqueals every possibility she gets. She is... way too human. I want humans - I go to the nearby supermarket, lol.

hm. Yeah my fav Core game was aod. I like them all though . I liked the gameplay and graphics for the CD games, and the story was okayyy. Not a good way to continue a GIANT cliffhanger that is aod though. And yeah SE makes killer graphics and gameplay. I was kinda excited because it would be the first anime-ish TR game (me being a big fan of anime and japanese games ). But like I said, I'm just hoping for a good story this time. And I actually like survival/horror games. (especially Amnesia: TDD) I just piss my pants every other second and I'll end up scaring myself to nearly fainting xD. So I don't play them much for my "sanity" But every now and then it's fun xD. But yeah. Hey, in a private note, you should give me your ideas on what would be a good sequal to aod :3 lol

its not sad at all, its always nice to have a good balance between saturated colors and desaturated use them to your advantage

Unfinished stuff also has its beauty. ya know... Artistically unfinished.

Well, I used custom stone and plant brushes to cover my inability to draw them properly(or at all)XD The rest is done as always(well, maybe a bit more colors added, to make it more... colorful? ).

You know, I had a very vague idea what do do with the rocks, downloaded rock brushes and just started painting hoping it will look like something D:
