Aww, this is such a cute and lovely image and what an adorable lizard, I have such a soft spot for reptiles <3

I dunno if this is a silly question or not, but what kind of lizard is this little guy? :>

I've always wanted a gecko lol. You're welcome! What brand of camera do you have, if I may ask?

anglerfishies In reply to saraischan [2009-11-27 04:44:16 +0000 UTC]

I use Canon (specifically, the 5D (classic), upgraded from the 400D not too long ago).

Thank you so much, I'll try to purchase that and the update! Do you remember how much it cost?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anglerfishies In reply to saraischan [2009-11-27 06:05:12 +0000 UTC]

My 400D was around $700 with the lens it came with (there's newer versions of this camera now, it's a beginner SLR).
And the 5D (body only) was bought second-hand (from Craigslist) for $1200 (the newer version, the Canon 5D Mark II - body only, can be bought for around $3000).

WHOA!!! I'm gonna definitely need to get a job!!! WHOA!! that's gonna be real hard to make that purchase but it'll be worth it!

anglerfishies In reply to saraischan [2009-11-29 06:34:55 +0000 UTC]

If you don't need a super professional camera, I'd go with one of the beginner SLRs (so the Canon 450D, 1000D or T1i). It takes great pictures, and has a flash in it (the 5D cameras don't, so that can be a real pain sometimes).

Oh Okay, that sounds like a pretty good deal, thing is, I'd like to use a good camera to make movies too. I'm very interested in the production of film and such.

Hm well the only ones I know for sure make movies are the Rebel T1i and the 5D Mark II.

Oooooh thank you sooooo much! I'll be sure to look into that!
I'm getting some good editing software for Christmas, so I'd like to try to get a legitimate camera to go with it... haha

I'm actually surprised he cooperated so well, our other geckos certainly wouldn't have put up with it.

LittleFoxStudio In reply to anglerfishies [2009-11-27 03:32:58 +0000 UTC]

Mine has had crickets land on her head and she just sorta sat there like "What's going on?"

When you feed yours, does he wave his tail back and forth and pounce only when the food actually moves?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anglerfishies In reply to LittleFoxStudio [2009-11-27 03:37:26 +0000 UTC]

Aw haha, I remember when we first got Sunny, he had some crickets in his terrarium with him and he just sat on them. So we effortlessly converted him to worms.

He lost his tail a couple of years ago, but we have one that wags her tail around every now and then. They all get wide eyes when they think they see food and hoover over it, making small movements towards it, seeing if it moves. If it doesn't, they usually lose interest (unless they're particularly hungry).

LittleFoxStudio In reply to anglerfishies [2009-11-27 04:02:02 +0000 UTC]

Liz hasn't actually sat on hers. They tend to sit on HER, instead. It's funny when I'm in my room walking around and she just sorta stands there and stares at me.

How'd he lose his tail?

anglerfishies In reply to LittleFoxStudio [2009-11-29 06:35:47 +0000 UTC]

I love it when that happens, really makes you wonder what they're thinking.

My youngest sister was taking him out of his (glass) terrarium and her arm hooked around it and pulled it down to the ground, and it shattered all over and scared him enough that he just dropped it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LittleFoxStudio In reply to anglerfishies [2009-11-29 07:54:53 +0000 UTC]

Liz has a glass one, too. Haven't dropped it yet, though.

A couple crickets have gotten loose in the past. I washed my face in the washroom and dried it off with a towel. I opened my eyes and the stupid thing was standing right in front of my nose.

anglerfishies In reply to LittleFoxStudio [2009-11-29 22:04:31 +0000 UTC]

That's good. We got Sunny one of the mesh net ones with a zipper, so if it were to fall, nothing would break.

Oh ew! I would have freaked out, haha. We find the odd beetle in our basement from escaped worms that have enough time to morph or whatever, but that doesn't happen too often, thankfully.

LittleFoxStudio In reply to anglerfishies [2009-11-29 22:42:58 +0000 UTC]

I'm pretty sure I was startled. I forget what I did though.

My little sister is taking care of Liz while I'm at school. Her msn signature recently said "RIP Lizzy" on it. I thought Liz had died and no one bothered to tell me. Turns out Lizzy was her friend's cat.

... plus I just love geckos and raspberries.
