A house in the woods!Β  I like how you paint the trees~
That is one of my most challenging to paint.Β  The reflection of
the pond looks peaceful and still.Β  Your paintings brings
such a peaceful atmosphere with the colors you use.Β
I do like this one very much!Β

Thank you very much for your kind admiration I am very happy you liked the atmosphere Β  Regarding trees I would say,I improvised a little bit toΒ  come up with this pattern(I just analyzed some paintings)....But actually the most difficult part is to set proper values and tones of color which ultimately give rise to the rich mood/atmosphere in a watercolor painting.

You're welcome, and it's my pleasure to view your
wonderful paintings!Β
What do you mean by "values"?Β  I'm not sure
what it means.Β Β

anglewind In reply to LightlyEve [2014-01-14 03:41:46 +0000 UTC]

Values apply to colors and determine their position between a spectrum of dark and light.....For example paper white being of 0 value and lamp black being of 9/10 values.....and so on I hope it helps....

LightlyEve In reply to anglewind [2014-01-14 14:34:47 +0000 UTC]

really?Β  I feel this value is quite complex indeed....
I think I'll just do my artwork without the technical aspects....
Thanks for your reply though, I appreciate itΒ

anglewind In reply to LightlyEve [2014-01-15 15:57:04 +0000 UTC]

well,in a way,it really is But put it simply, its just the dilution and concentration of a color. However,I think most painters do not think about these technical aspects as they paint; They just paint, everything else follows that You just keep up painting, all in the way you like it and everything else will just happen over time Good luck
