Description
3D is addictive... So I tried to let my character Arada Ven reincarnate in 3D. These are the first two testrenders. I'm not yet 100% satisfied with it - something at the facemorph disturbs me, but I can't put the finger on it. And the transition from head to lekku is too abrupt - but for this problem I may find a postwork-solution. Maybe I also should make new textures for the outfit on the right side, those that came with it don't fit that good to orange skin...At least I succeded to adapt the surface of the lekku to the look of the other skinparts already in the second attempt.

Hm, Twi'lek don't have human ears, but otherwise I think I like those lekku better than the ones I found, which look very blocky. I see the thigh-straps for the gun-belts aren't fitting well - was this the trouble you thought was the orange skin? Most likely it's the body-morph, not the skin. You might be able to fix by stretching the straps a little. Do you use DAZ or Poser?

According to the article at wookieepedia, Twi'leks have human ears, males always, females sometimes.
For the thigh-straps I wanted to use some deformers to make them fit better, but maybe it will do to morph the thighs a bit, I didn't try yet. And the problem with the orange skin concerns the colour of the t-shirt in first place. I'm not sure if this looks so good.
I use Daz|Studio 2.0, this is Victoria 4.1

Ok, I wasn't aware of that, all the pics I've seen of them lately have not had the human ears. And the wookipieedia pictures I'd seen seemed to confirm it, though I suppose I should have read the description a bit more thoroughly.
Hm, ok. I think you may find that the straps will morph along with the thighs, so you may have to morph the straps separately. I haven't used the new Vicky4 yet, but generally once a clothing item decides how to "appropriately" conform to the character you are kind of stuck.
As for color-coordination, no idea, I am a guy, and as is natural for "most" of us, I suck at it.

*lol* Well, I think I'll find a nice texture for theese clothes.
Again about the ears: Some time ago I read at wookieepedia that female twi'leks also have human ears, but some headpiecesmake have cones made of bone or other organic material, that are painted in the skincolour of their owner, so non-Twi'leks often think that female Twi'leks have cone-ears. Last time I checked, it said that "there is both evidence for human ears and cone-ears".
Well, I prefere the first version, it sounds more logical.

*lol* She IS Tomb Raider cross Star Wars! Well, she's not only after treasures and artefacts, she does what she gets paid for. Browse my gallery for "Arada Ven", there you will find more background information about this character, if you're interested.

Hmmm... I think the most disturbing part is that she has no eyebrows. o.o Twi'lek don't have eyebrows though, do they.

Nope, they don't. Except of lashes they grow no hair at all. I didn't want Arada to be one of those Twi'lek-women that paint or even tattoo eyebrows on, to make themselves more attractive to other races.

I enjoy seeing new "faces", this one looks different and I really like how the lekkus join the forehead, better than regular work we see around.

These credits go to Keith M from renderosity.com, he made these lekku and the headmorph (but not the face).
Thank you for your comment, I think Arada will show up in my gallery more often now

Just don't tell me that Twi'leks like Lara Croft?!
Nicely done though I think that the endings of the lekku are too slim.

Why not? After all, this one is my character *lol*
I have the same thoughts about the lekku, but I don't think I can help it. They are a different modell than the one I used for Mission and created by a different author. But I think they don't look that bad - and they are easier to pose

No - they do not look bad - just a little diffrent - that's all. Very nice work by the way!

Well, why should all lekku look the same way? *gg*
Thanks!
