Heavy would be a light-resistance buffet for these guys, I can see it now.
Medic is snatched away, screaming, by one of the smaller ones, then Heavy tries to hold them off using his Huo-Long Heater but inevitably runs out of ammo and tosses it aside and switches to his Family Business and fights valiantly before once more running out of ammo; suddenly the large four-armed monstrosity lumbers into view as Heavy puts on his Eviction Notices. Heavy puts up a normally discouraging fight before he is impaled in one of his arms by one of the extra limbs. He screams but is cut short as another of the hideous beasts comes up from behind and drives its claws through his chest, causing him to lose consciousness from the physical trauma and profuse loss of blood. The Tyranids make quick, gory work of Heavy's corpse.

The Nids where around for a few years before the zerg.
I would not be surprised if the nids were the inspiration for the zerg....
They are similar, but the Zerg are slightly more friendly.
