Description
Hi all. SO the exhibition is totally amazing I'll write about it in my next journal. But this one is there 2meters tall. I wanted the spiralling composition to make you wonder where the up and down of this piece is. When I saw people standing in front of it twisting their body 90 degrees in a weird pose trying to figure it out I felt like I had achieved my goal. This piece is so bloody huge it always kills my computer when I open it. It's something like 15000 px high(EDIT: I HAD FORGOTTEN THAT ONE ZERO SO YOU PROBABLY WERE WONDERING WHAT'S SO HARD ABOUT 1500PX TALL IMAGE. WHAT A DIFFERENCE ONE NUBER CAN MAKE) so no wonder. Well at least the prints turned out good and sharp because of it. Even if it meant 15 minutes of wait between every brush stroke while doing the finishing touches.

Ok so I read the text you put before looking at the picture (it was taking a while to load) and I saw how it made you happy when the people were twisting trying to figure out a perspective of it.
So to make you happy I'm going to make a confession: I actually turned my laptop on its side to see the whole thing

So freakin' AMAZING. I love the road twisting upside down, and the bold green colors. I have no idea how you can work so large, I can barely handle 3000 pixels..

Worst of is that my computer is almost 5 years old now and it really shows. I'm starting to have less patience with it so I'm doing smaller pieces because the painting feels more fun when it's fast. Besides it was mostly because the print size was 2 meters tall. Thank you for the comment.

You must have had so much fun with this one.. ^^ Both perspectives converge, almost, in the middle, in a slow-motion vortex of colliding worlds adding even more confusion to the piece as a whole. And the architecture is just astounding. I love it's alien, royal feel.
But it seems so cliche to say all this.. @ @;; I wish I had more time to write. I'll tell you though, I've looked it over several times in the last 10 minutes and I keep finding more too it that I didn't see, or understand, a minute ago.
Great work!

Actually I had a typo in my description that's very relevant to your comment. This painting is actually 15000px tall so that squeezed all fun out of it. It's great to look at now but painting in that resolution was a very slow process. Thank you for your comment, it makes me feel like my efforts haven't gone to waste.

with your pictures, I always store them in my deviation center for a while, then, after I looked at them 4 or 5 times, I finally feel able to write a comment, and still I keep finding details I didn't see before... especially with this one. it's so incredibly deep, it makes me smile and get all thoughtful at the same time, it's soothing and confusing to look at at the same time, it's so many things at once that I still can't really write a comment that makes sense. weightless and without just one perspective to look from indeed. I love it.

That's so sweet. I'm speechless, almost. I am a compulsive over talker after all. Your comments make my painting even more fun because I know there's somebody out there in the other end of the phone wire to look at my paintings. I always hope that someone gets even a fraction of the happiness I get when looking at my paintings.

I love love love this, and especially your "goal" in creating it! Seems like something I've always wanted to create myself but never actually knew what it was.

Seems like the best of your work, of those I've seen at least. The water looks a bit too sketchy, perhaps, but even still this is damn great work. The idea is great, and the picture has a good sense of depth too.

I love pieces done in various greens. The spiral composition lends a wonderfully organic feel to this, like coils of vines.

This is just.. so beautiful, I opened it and it took my breath away, I love the interesting angle, its such a nice break from the straight-forward landscape images, and so beautifully detailed as well..
I'm sure it was a big hit

Your landscapes! The spiral composition blows my mind. I wish I could have stood in front of the two metre tall version so I could twist myself in to a pretzel. The colours are amazing, so intense- and I really like those hints of a civilization that used to be there/liked building on twisty ground.

You can include me in with the people who turned their heads. Every angle you look at this in makes one part make sense, but another out of wack. Very cool.
