funny, you're closer to the truth than you may think
the author of this reskin/modelhack here. since the Marines' finger bones are mitten-like, meaning the thumb and the first finger move individually while the remaining three are rigged to one 'finger', which makes extending the middle finger impossible, i decided to create separate hand props with the middle finger extended. so yeah, essentially the middle finger IS stuck like that, since it's part of a rigid, solid mesh :V
