Howdy, y'all. Well, as many of you know, I've been feeling rather glum lately. Very glum, actually. A bit of a bad semester, you see. And a bad luck spell. Anyway, when I feel down, I sometimes like to doodle in an old notebook or binder or something while I lie in bed before I go to sleep. And nothing perks up a massive loser, such as myself, like doodling naked fictional women. So I did just that. However, it came out WAY better than I had anticipated. Like, really way better. I know there are still a lot of errors, problems, anatomy screw-ups,what-have-you with it, but, for a notebook doodle, it was freaking me out how well it came out.

I was semi-inspired by some works I stumbled apon during my various wheelings and dealings on DA earlier that day. This piece [link] I thought was stylistically awesome and inspired the setting and subject matter, and this piece [link] inspired Peach's pose. Big props to those artists. Give them a hand, folks.

Now, this lil' doodle seems to be various Nintendo females enjoying a relaxing day at the beach, and they ain't exactly dressed for the occasion, either. Peach is forefront, taking everything in, and Samus and Zelda are in the background playing some Extreme Beach Volleyball. Daisy is under the big umbrella getting a tasty beverage, and it just felt weird having her as the only non Smash Bros. fighter (though she COULD be considered as one, as she is a palette swap for Peach), so I drew Misty in the background building a sandcastle (once again, she's 22, DA admins). Also, Mr. Resetti is there for some reason. I know it's all hard to see, but I did try to fiddle with it in Photoshop. I added a reddish tint; I think it helps convey a warm, sunny mood.

And I know, I know, I've got a TON of drawings I should be doing for DA. I owe Chibi-Pit like 5 drawings, I need to do more for the Nintendo Liberation Front, and I have several requests pending. But like I said, I didn't plan this one. Sorry to all folks waiting for me to stop moping and start drawing.

That said, I really like this concept and my use it again. I may do this piece again as a well done colored illustration, or maybe even as a painting (should the spirit ever move me to paint again). I do still have a canvas left over from my painting class...
