Description U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701
Constitution Class Pre-Refit

The Constitution Class was built for exploration in the federation during the late 23rd century. Besides the Enterprise, other ships of the class included the Constitution, Exeter, Defiant, Constellation, Yorktown, Republic, Hood, Excalibur, Kongo, Intrepid, Lexington, Potemkin, Essex, Merrimack and Farragut. The line was launched in 2245, almost two centuries after the initial warp flight by Zefram Cochrane in his warp ship the Pheonix and not quite a century after the NX class starships and the pre-federation exploration by Earth Starfleet following the Warp Five project. Atleast three of the ships were destroyed, the Constellation, Intrepid, and Excalibur, prior to 2271 when they ships were refitted to match the abilities of the increasing amount of Miranda, Soyuez and Oberth vessels in the fleet. The Enterprise, however, was destroyed in 2285 to prevent her from falling into enemy hands at Genesis. Despite the reuse of many of the names of the original Constitution class vessels throughout starfleet history(Excalibur, Hood, Defiant, Intrepid, Farragut, Lexington) only Constellation and Enterprise were on Contitution class ships, and only Enterprise recieved the same registry, 1701, amended with a -A, -B, -C, -D and -E through the late 24th century(it should be noted that the 1701-J vessel has been seen during a battle in the 26th century. since the timeline has been altered and the battle will never take place, it is hard to know if and when the Enterprise will truly reach -J). Besides Constellation and Enterprise, other Constitution refit vessels are known to include Kongo, Yorktown and Potemkin. The Defiant was phased out of our universe and time by the Tholians, reappearing during the late 22nd century in the mirror universe. It is unknown what became of the ship, but she must have been destroyed as the Terran Empire collapsed before the end of the 24th century and the remaining Terran Alliance had almost no military presence, besides guerilla warfare. It is unknown whether the Republic had been refitted or not, as she was kept on as a training vessel and had not left the Sol System in close to 100 years by the late 24th century.

Star Trek: The best way to get fat men to wear tight jumpsuits, and a one way ticket to die an 80 year old virgin.

Aside from that it's a good show.

Nice pic too!

Very nice with the model work! I recently bought one of those Refit Enterprise model kits that Polar Lights came out with that's three feet long when assembled and uber detailed. I hope I can have it put together soon!

i know the exact kit you mean. i want one so bad, but i can't justify two working kits at a time...and i have this Monogram Voyager model half assembled...

thanks!

Oh wow *nods* Well, if you have the room for it in the future, definitely get one. It's a very high quality model! The decal sheet alone is fantastic.
