*** Please fullview to see all the artiness to full effect!***This will be the first in a series of pictures dedicated to the awesome that is the TF2 crew. First up we have Sniper. I've always imagined him to be a little lonely at heart, given how far away from everyone he is both by proximity and personality. That's what inspired this picture, anyway!

EDIT: Realised I'd left a lineart layer in that's not meant to be there. His scar is now much more realistic looking.

I do too! I always thought he must get lonely on his own. He doesn't seem to mix with any of the team and his profession keeps him far away from the others. I wouldn't mind joining him though, hehehe.

Thankyou! I never draw backgrounds usually... This is one of the first times I've done it properly. It paid off! 
My tip would be to keep it simple so the focus remains on the foreground characters. If you're using digital painting techniques, use a larger brush and gradually build up colours after you've laid down the basic form (shapes and blobs!). Use smaller brushes to pick out detail later. It also helps you know where your light sources are coming from if you do the background first. The background on this one took about an hour to do, so you need not spend hours to make something effective looking. I posted a link to the Photoshop brushes I used in reply to one of the newest comments, should be virus free and things. Give 'em a go if you're a digital artist! ^_^

Medic is my favourite class of all and the idea I have for his picture is really grand scale, so he's going to be last so I can do the best job I can on him. Next up is a joint Pyro-Spy picture, so you get half your wish at least! =3

Seriously... I USED to think female. Since I've read more TF2 fanfics though... I'd love Pyro to be a British male. Dunno why. Maybe it's the delicious irony of a raging pyromaniac actually being a well spoken and rather posh sounding bloke? XD

I do agree the Machina looks cool, but I felt it would look out of place among the more traditional setting I chose and since it's not a battle picture half the rifle's hidden anyway. Should I do an action picture the Machina and its marker trails would make for a very pretty image indeed, so thanks for the input!

Advice heeded! To be fair, I think Sniper's Jarate will keep just about anyone who decides to start something away... As Spy would say, "EEEEUUURRRGGGHHH!".

Richtofen enjoys being bathed in blood and gets off my killing people...so I don't think Jarate would affect him. :/
