Description

So I'm still working on giving the cast of the first book in the OG series updated designs. It's a lot tougher than I thought it'd be.

So far I've managed to tack down designs for both the main protagonists, but I'm yet to get a finished drawing done that I'm actually satisfied with. This came out okay, but there are so many mistakes and niggling issues I have with it (the faces mainly, Violet's in particular. I've never been great at getting faces to look perfect at any angle other than a front and centre view), that I'll probably end up starting again for the third time.

I have a habit of somehow failing to notice where I've gone wrong with a drawing right up until I've finished it. Ah well. It's good enough to upload... but it's back to the graphics tablet for round three for me I guess.

...Also, to address an observation some people may or may not have made; yes, Blue does seem to get partnered up with quite a few girls. Rest assured, he does not have a harem, nor is he the kind of guy that could even pull off something like that in the first place. It's just that my favourite kinds of stories are those where a boy meets a girl and the two of them embark on some dangerous adventure or mission and develop a friendship along the way. Even better if they dislike each other beforehand and have to set aside their differences to succeed. So... I tend to write quite a few of them. I wonder how Blue feels about it. He'd probably complain if he could. Too bad for him.

Either way, the excessive amount of female characters is something I intend to fix when I eventually get round to starting the rewrites. (Well, I keep saying 'rewrites', but at the rate I'm going it's probably going to be a completely different story)
