Description SPOILER WARNING
Someday I'll have the patience to do a decent coloring job.

I absolutely cannot wait for AC: Forsaken. If the excerpts on the internet are to be believed, then there is so much in the way of Haytham development and love and win.

Personally, I find him one of the most compelling characters of the series -- the disillusioned anti-villain, the tragic hero.

Particularly at this scene here, his first real analytical look at Connor.

The excerpt, in it's entirety, reads:
"It was Connor.
I peered from the shadows behind the pulpit. He wore his Assassin’s robes and an intense look, and I watched him for a moment. It was as though I were watching myself - a younger version of myself, as an Assassin, the path I should have taken, the path I was being groomed to take, and would have done, had it not been for the treachery of Reginald Birch. Watching him - Connor - what I felt was a fierce mixture of emotions; among them regret, bitterness, even envy."

And of course, Connor!! This is the first time he speaks to his father and the dynamic is tantalizing. From the start he seeks to prove himself, to make his father proud in some sense. Haytham, in turn, is careful to keep from showing his admiration for his son -- to avoid "feigning affection" -- and yet he is inescapably drawn to Connor. Perhaps it's because Connor, even with all his naivete and idealism, is the last thing that Haytham truly has any faith in.

... I really need this book. X3

I loved that part of the book, even though it made me sad.

Oh, I'm not amazing, but thank you!

I know how you feel! My family and I have this long-standing tradition of shopping bans: we're not allowed to buy anything for ourselves during the holiday season in case someone else already bought it for us.

But I want it so badly. T.T
