I really, really like this portrait, and I'm still amazed at how I did it running against time and with the wrong conditions: I worked on it for 11 hours without pausing, and I even called my mother to asked for permission to give up when I was so tired and complaining because the sun was down and I become disoriented painting without natural light (I was on the verge of tears) but she pressured me to not give up. The conditions were that bad because a friend of a friend decided to ask for a portrait and took so long to send the photo that I only had one day to do it. I had every reason to refuse, yet I needed the money and didn't want to let the person down. Still, I'm glad I did it. I love the textures and soft shadowing. From 2017.
