Oh, look! It's another wolf by yours truly!Well, the inspiration behind this is our Dresden Files RPG Chronicle and one of the PCs, who just happens to be of the werewolf persuasion.
So, yeah, I got carried away drawing. The fact that I was at the office with no internet for a couple of days and without much else to do *may* have played a part as well...
;Mostly Art Rage (with wolf headshot refs) & PS for some retouching.
Fluff brushes by and someone else whose name I can't remember right now...

The gray and black with splashes of color (red) really works.
The hair though looks a little blocky though, not tapered off like hair does. Unless you are going for a matted look.
Proportions look to be in line so nothing seems wonky (technical term lol)
Overall the loose line work and coloring/shading gives it a sense of movement.
Not crazy about the background, kind of looks like photoshop opaque shapes over each other. Perhaps if it had the same organic shapes as the blood splotches, but then again that is all up to personal taste.
Overall this is a visceral image that works for a genre of art that doesn't have a middle ground ... it is either good or not. Well done.

To address some of your points, for the hair and overall texture of fur, I was going for classic comic-book inked style, so that is why it turned out so blocky. It's a matter of style for me, plus detail that I'd rather avoid having in this case, since I wanted most of the detail focus on his head. I do, however see your point.
And the bgr was intentionally, well, left alone, since I wanted all the attention going on the wolf. You're probably right about it being out of sorts, so I may try to re-work it in the same manner as the wolf and see where that leads (I will also admit to partial laziness

This is freakin' awesome! That horrifying jaw with those wonderfully sharp teeth of his is my favorite part of this drawing. I also really like the texture that you've given his fur. Super cool!Β

OMG, thanx! All of his head was supposed to be the main appeal of the draweing to begin with, so I was extra careful about it. Thanx for the fur styling like too.Β Β I'm glad everything is being appreciated!Β
