I believe their relationship was meant as a Father/Daughter relationship for many reasons, but it's been so long since I've really obsessed over them that I can't remember all my reasoning atm. However one example I can think of which is a clue from Rumiko Takahashi herself is the part of the series right after Sesshomaru's Mother brings Rin back to life. She comments to Jaken that Sesshomaru has "become like his Father in the strangest ways".
Since his Father loved a human in a romantic way, becoming like his father in the strangest ways would have to mean he learned to love a human in a different way. Hence the reason I believe they have a more father/daughter relationship than a romantic one. Sesshomaru learned to love a human as a ward or daughter. Here's an essay written by one of my good friends that goes more in depth and is quite interesting. [link] If you enjoy fanfics with them in this type of relationship then you'll also want to read some she has written. Definitely some of the best I've ever read.

ya i think that was rumikos plan was a father daughter relationship after reading a couple things on it, i also read a couple things that strongly suggested that sesshmaru and kagura were canon even if they didnt really 'get together' cuz she died

AWWWWWWWWW! thats soo sweet, I can really see that father-daughter bond they share. there's a lot of emotion in this comic. I really love it.
I wanted to ask though, how did you achieve that comic look? with the dotted backgrounds and such? I really think that's a great element that you put into these, it really adds to the overall feel.

Oh, my tones? Hehe, I confiscated them from my Manga Studio program. C< I tried to learn how to do my pages in that program at first, but when I realized how badly I sucked at it I thought of a way to take the tones from M.S. and put them in GIMP where I knew what I was doing. CX I just saved all the tones as layers in M.S. to a Photoshop file (which GIMP understands) and opened it in GIMP to copy and paste as I pleased. I even turned some of them into patterns to use with the bucket tool, but I found out that it was slowing GIMP up with all that extra memory, so I just stuck with opening up what ever file had the tone I wanted and using it from there.
I'm glad you liked the effect they had! I'll be sure to do more of that for future comics. ^v^
