Description Made this in two days for a presentation tomorrow (technically today now), so it's pretty crappy... It'll amaze the class, though, being the only animation. XP

The DVD Burner doesn't wanna deal with the .avi, and Windows Movie Maker refuses the .avi as well, so I can't make a .wmv. Guess I'm finally gonna have to try using a jump drive in class... HOPE THEIR COMPUTER SUPPORTS FLASH OR .AVI.

Me as the Man Eating Turtle teaches you about salmonella on Long Island. ENJOY.

Music from the beginning and end of 'Ed, Edd n Eddy's Jingle Jingle Jangle' because that's some of the BEST music I've ever heard.

That was the most random thing I've ever seen. AND I LOVED IT XD
I love how the turtle keeps gaining scholarly wear and then suddenly loses it all completely. XDDD

There was supposed to be a joke where he stops talking and gets confused about where his clothes went, but my microphone randomly skipped over every other line and I got tired of rerecording everything. D:

Oy, what a pain. XD I feel for ya, man.
Dude, my teacher for Flash was gonna give us sound effects for our films, right? Well, I gave him the list of sounds I needed, and he only gave me, like, half of 'em and mindless other sounds to go with them, so I totally had to improvise in the final editting. XD
So I guess you take what you can get, right?

I go to Flashkit or Sounddogs (or make 'em myself) when I need sound effects, but when I was younger I just made sounds with my mouth. XD That teacher's an audio-cheapskate, though. D:

Well, he's French, so English isn't his first language. I'm sure he just misinterpreted most of my list. XD

If they don't support .avi, open it with IE.
This is awesome, how long did it take you? o_o

TWO DAYS. I've stayed up until 4 a.m. these past 3 nights (I still think of it as two days, though) working on this. This is pretty awful, but it's alright for how little time I spent on it. XD

Thanks! I couldn't get the .avi or the .swf to work in class, so I just went on deviantART and showed it to them from here. XP

Silly Kevin, you forget to add that turtles don't actually talk, and seeing turtles talk is a sign of salmonella.

that turtle actually looks more like a tortoise.

anyway, i enjoyed that, particularly some of mr tortoise's facial expressions. however, some of the lip synch bugged me - there was an 'L' mouth shape, with the tongue curled up at the back, that kept cropping up in words for Ts or Ns rather than Ls, and it looked really weird. kudos in all the good work though.

AnimatEd In reply to WesleyRiot [2009-12-14 20:00:10 +0000 UTC]

It's in a bowl with water in it and appears to have flippers instead of feet, so I don't think it's a tortoise... Maybe my knowledge on the differences between them is rusty, though.

Thanks! Yeah, it's just a mouth loop after a while because I had to get all the lip sync done in a day. I think this presentation is the longest that a 1-day project has gone before I had to resort to mouth loops. It's really hard to lip sync a turtle, though, because they don't have lips or teeth, so almost everything has to rely on opening and closing mouths.

I loved it! I laughed the hardest when he said "from-turtle-poop-ew"

I like your voice too. ^.^

Is all that stuff FOR REALZ??

you know what, i liked it so much, Ill even stamp it with an obnoxious plz account icon.

Haha, thank you! XD I meant to have a similar line for when he was explaining the symptoms, where he'd say that he's glad that those aren't being animated.

Everything in this is truuuuuue, although I forgot to mention that technically you can help prevent turtles' salmonella by not screwing up their diets, but that seems like kind of a given. : P

She's part of the family now. I couldn't part with her!

The more I think about it, the more I like this cartoon. For people who have no experience with creatures like turtles and tortoises, a little animation like this is very informative. The information about buying turtles/tortoises from a reputable breeder is especially important - pet stores often sell wild-caught tortoises, which are treated extremely poorly during shipping. They also often come loaded with parasites, which means an expensive vet visit to get them checked.

A lot of this stuff is information I wish I had known before I got my tortoise. Thankfully, I figured out some stuff along the way, but I'm sure it would have been easier for both my pet and myself if we had known what to do right away.

My parents won't let me get a turtle. XP It suuuuuuckkkkksssss.

Thank you very much! I tried to get as many of the most important points in here as possible. The only turtle/tortoise I've ever interacted with was a wild one, but of course I had to put it back in the wild because it would kill itself trying to get back. I want that tortoise baaaackkkk...
