Ok as an estimate i think this peice was 100 hours total on work.Ok now rant parts over heres why i did this.
1. Well mudkip is my favourite pokemon..have been since i saw it and raised on on sapphire, so please don't assume i just like it because it's 'cool' and for this you can probly tell i more then like mudkips i love them ^^ I can sit drawring them for 90 arsing hours i think that's more then like..but not so much that it goes into the creepy 'i wish mudkips were real, i wanna be one' kinda way.
2. You know that meme well..now that kids are using the word hate so much i have to find stronger words so i despise/loathe that meme ¬¬ i took out from my stamp collection ones that say that stupid phrase (ecept the one with a mudkip axolotl..because axolotl's are my second favourie animal to lemurs..that's why i based pudolo on one)
Heres how i tried to work it our time wise.
58 mudkips, (not inclusing rosie) each taking on average 1 hour and 30 mins (adults took 1.30-2 hours babies took 1-1.30 houres)
= 87 houres
rosie took 4 hours (vector style takes ages)
background took around 9 houres so in total it took about 100 hours.
Most the things in the background i found incredibly hard to draw such as: the river, the effect of somthing splashing out the river, sticks and puddles.
If you are a short commenter AT LEAST say which is your favourite posed one..mines the crouching baby next to the blushing muddy
and heres the thing on why their different colours (i know i keep having more X3)
ok in school i do biology and in that were learning about genetics and DNA.how it's replicated, transfered, inherited etc.
like all animals they have variation. because of evolution of things i decided mudkips can have variation to :3 but i only did it with colours since..i liek the shape of mudkips. so i make the skin colour from green, to turquoise, through cyans to a more royal blue. bellies i went from turquoise to NOT a purple..it's actually a very light royal blue :3 and cheeks from redish orange to yellowish orange. plus cheeksizes differ on some, and feet 9but that's because after doing the first 20 muds, i looked the anime and refs more closly and realised their feet are quite smoothe).
OH and the mikdip that looks liek it's doing down a water fall..it's supose to be what it looks liek underground (did'nt knwo how else to show a clear iamge of an underwater mudkip)

I was never a really big fan of the new pokΓ©mon but I have to say the life and detail in this picture blew me away so I had to fav it. The two mudkips fighting in the middle made me smile

Are mudkips supposed to be a type of salamander?
They seem to have some resemblance to an axolotl , but not in the same colors.

That amazing, all the detail and the time you took on it. I love how you did the background and I'm impressed on how much time you put into it. You can see that when you look at this. I like the purple mudkips the most XD

WOW.....so many mudkips and wow.....long artist comment i read it all and....wow but im totally with ya its so awesome to see so many mudkips in one pic and the coloring job is fantastic the water i thing is really cool its really realistic and stuff and i like how u gave each mudkip like a different expression and attitude instead of them all the same but this picture is really something im really impressed i would not have the patience to draw and color it all......

i always read comments for sum reason...even if theyre lame ....idk....and i think i saw a water tutorial some where here but im not sure but for just doing it ur self is a fantastic job....i just use blue and another blue....then blend....i cant do much detail from lack of expirence

Wow this is so beautiful... I mean, each Mudkip really looks to have there own nature, feelings of others, situations, thoughts, heck everything! I doubt all I say can really show how great this picture is, it's cute, interesting, sad, questioning, it really makes me wonder about situations, specialy the one smiling yet crying near the bottom left... The environment they are in is perfect, not to mention the fact that each one seems to have there own Expression, and Position. As well the little details really make it that much better, different eye colors, tints of blue, and the addition of three shiny ones just for a little flash within all the blues heheh, the 100 hours of work you put into this are well worth it to me, and I hope you think so as too. *nod* Absolutly wonderful job!
On a side note, I too hate that stupid Mudkip meme, Squirtles are my favorite pokemon, and I can easily understand how seeing a favorite pokemon of yours turned into a joke can really be bothersome, but your true liking for them certiantly shows with this picture. *nod* Again well done!

ooh o3o thank ya, the positions od each of the mudkips is arbitrary on most of them..just put them where ever but they seem to fit X3 yeah with the sad one, i wanted to do a range of emotions/exspresion..which is'nt that much since mudkips can't really move their mouths much. but yeha i tried at some sad ones :3
yeha i'm proud of this from all the variation..for once i was'nt lazy
