Ok as an estimate i think this peice was 100 hours total on work.Ok now rant parts over heres why i did this.
1. Well mudkip is my favourite pokemon..have been since i saw it and raised on on sapphire, so please don't assume i just like it because it's 'cool' and for this you can probly tell i more then like mudkips i love them ^^ I can sit drawring them for 90 arsing hours i think that's more then like..but not so much that it goes into the creepy 'i wish mudkips were real, i wanna be one' kinda way.
2. You know that meme well..now that kids are using the word hate so much i have to find stronger words so i despise/loathe that meme ¬¬ i took out from my stamp collection ones that say that stupid phrase (ecept the one with a mudkip axolotl..because axolotl's are my second favourie animal to lemurs..that's why i based pudolo on one)
Heres how i tried to work it our time wise.
58 mudkips, (not inclusing rosie) each taking on average 1 hour and 30 mins (adults took 1.30-2 hours babies took 1-1.30 houres)
= 87 houres
rosie took 4 hours (vector style takes ages)
background took around 9 houres so in total it took about 100 hours.
Most the things in the background i found incredibly hard to draw such as: the river, the effect of somthing splashing out the river, sticks and puddles.
If you are a short commenter AT LEAST say which is your favourite posed one..mines the crouching baby next to the blushing muddy
and heres the thing on why their different colours (i know i keep having more X3)
ok in school i do biology and in that were learning about genetics and DNA.how it's replicated, transfered, inherited etc.
like all animals they have variation. because of evolution of things i decided mudkips can have variation to :3 but i only did it with colours since..i liek the shape of mudkips. so i make the skin colour from green, to turquoise, through cyans to a more royal blue. bellies i went from turquoise to NOT a purple..it's actually a very light royal blue :3 and cheeks from redish orange to yellowish orange. plus cheeksizes differ on some, and feet 9but that's because after doing the first 20 muds, i looked the anime and refs more closly and realised their feet are quite smoothe).
OH and the mikdip that looks liek it's doing down a water fall..it's supose to be what it looks liek underground (did'nt knwo how else to show a clear iamge of an underwater mudkip)

well it's called cell shading, i used nodes and vector shapes, btu my lemur obsessor friend told me it' cell chading since it's not simplistic enough.

Let's start with when I saw the title in my latest deviations...'Mudkips' I had a pretty good idea on what it will be since you have told me what you have been working on for quite a while and from the pictures that you use as your display pictures on MSN, left me a bit curious as to what they'll be apart of. I pull it up and there's this long artist comment, mostly ranting...which I respect and I read through it. You are my girlfriend and I will respect what you wish to share. Yes, you deserve a comment longer than what I normally would give that starts an rp (which I still have the first one in my messages...). I'll try to avoid that from happening. I click on the picture and let it open up to what holds 58 mudkips; Rosie included to make 59.
Now this is where I have to make the most of this comment...my response. Well done on putting time and effort into creating this. I'm amazed. For one, my Photoshop expired on the night of my prom (23 May) and it wasn't really a worthy chance to take some time into using it. Since I lack in patience, making something that can out-do this; would take a miracle for me. A total of 100 hours, estimated, you have got to have some damn serious patience or just complete boredom to spend that much time to 'wow' the artists of this site (they may be good or great artists, but they lack in their commenting skills). For two, I have no skills in drawing things this good. Once again, do I know you...of course I do, damnit...I'm the writer here.
Next! Choice of colors and number of mudkips. Colors, well...not a master, but a great choice in colors. Pink, as for shiny, were the first ones that caught my attention, like the one lying on the ground with a little one over it. That was cute. All three shiny mudkips stand out from the rest, just for their color. The other color was the light blue color of some mudkips. Not the sky blue, more like slate color...blue-grey, that color. That was the next color that I was curious about, since they are another thing that stands out from the rest. It's cute to see them playing with each other and swimming in the water. It's both adorable and funny, like the one sleeping. That one reminds me during last summer, lol. Next is the number. Is there a reason for 58 or 59 with Rosie included? I'd know the reason if 10 more was added to the 59, but I'm not going there right now...
Next! Favorites and finals. My favorites are several to be truthful with you, Tasha. The ones with the vines, looks like us as mudkips when we did some old rps. You'd probably be the one on the bottom and maybe me on the top part of the vine. Another favorite is the first two in the top left corner. It looks like us, but that's probably because I've seen that one before, so yeah...Another favorite is the pair on the bottom right corner. My guess the one getting licked could be either you or me, depends on who it's viewed by. In my perspective of it, that would be you reacting to me. The one standing on its tail, just like what I did in our first rp together. Practically I can do that anytime that my tail comes back in our rps or with other people. A fun thing to do and yet, a way to be a show-off. The last group that I like and it reminds me of three guys. The triple of mudkips with one ontop of the other two. From left to right, it would be me and Anthony and Cyreo on top of us telling us that he sees something out-of-the-ordinary. But normally, Anthony would be a Sceptile, I'm a Swampert, and Cyreo is the Blaziken...we're usually any three of the main starters of each generation; depends what region we're in. But as mudkips, we're like the 3 Stooges (can't spell that show well, funny show). Last, I have to say that the choice on location is perfect. My slowness didn't help so well. When the picture came up, I thought I saw the water was moving at first and I poked my laptop screen to see if it was just a smudge on my screen,
Final! 
This is going in my favorites with all the other collecting things. And to finish it, the time that it took me to write this; ends at...7:33pm. Wow, it took me an hour to write this...But, you know what, it was worth it for a special person and artwork.

aww hehe well in a month i can do loads in photoshop..but you did have a harsh school to cope with x: in art the only thing i can't spend time on is traditional art. unless it's in an art lesson, even then i do things real quick and ppl still go 'that's really good' so either normal ppl's standards are low or i'm gooowd |D..it's the only thing i ahve to be proud of >.>''
though if you wanted to do stuff like this..yes it does take patience, normal small pictures take at least 2 houres (in my old style) not about 3-4 that's for ones wiht only 1 subject matter with no bg. so yeah..patience is kinda essential for artsy folk, one of the reasons i hate it when my friends asked me to teach them how to draw and could'nt be arsed after like 10 mins.

mmhmm the colours all to do with genetics :3 the paler ones well..it could either be from ressesive colour pigments in their skin :e i like to use my biology knowledge XD makes me seem smartish.
yah i'd think the shiny's would stand out since their complementary colours to the greens and blues though for me it's rosie n the ones in the river that stand out in my head.
umm the number..yeahh 69 X3 that would be cool if it came to that but i just did 2 pages of mudkip stetched (2nd page was upgraded versions feet and cheek wise) and their would ahve been more but their was like 8 i did'nt like..just came out as 59..i thoguh to make t 60 BUT I WANNA BE ARKWARD >8D

hehe the water..well to me the surface could of gone better but..i've never done a river n digital style so i just made it up as i went along with a couple of refs, and belive me..rivers, sticks and puddles are bitches to do!
and now i must go edit the 3 under the water..their outlines still ahve some white on them.

I'm not gonna give a proper comment but i don't think any one will say this to you but i think the background looks rushed compared to all the mudkips it would be better if you spent more tim in making the water look realistic and the ground.
