Description Hakase loves sharks. How do you think she would feel meeting the most famous shark on the internet?

This is quite possibly one of the strangest crossover artworks I've ever made. For those who haven't seen or watched Nichijou, the little girl you see here is named Hakase (which is literally the Japanese word for "professor"). One known fact about her that fans or casual viewers know is that one of her biggest interests is sharks, and it just so happens that the most-viewed video on YouTube stars a shark. So, that gave me the grand idea of "What would happen if a shark lover like Hakase were to meet the star of the most-watched video on the biggest video platform online?"

When it comes to the making of this artwork, I must say that I'm really starting to get the hang of drawing the characters of Nichijou. That doesn't mean I have their designs memorized; I still need reference pics because, since they're anime characters, they have a lot of details, which means I constantly double check my art to make sure they're on-model as possible. I think of all the characters in the main cast, Hakase is probably the easiest to draw, mainly because she's the shortest, and she's basically a walking lab coat (since her lab coat is bigger than her body, that means I don't have to deal with what's underneath it). When it comes to the internet's favorite shark, I relied on two reference pics: one is of Baby Shark as he appeared in the viral video, and one is his design in that cartoon Nickelodeon made starring the carnivore, Baby Shark's Big Show!. I used these two pictures as reference because I wanted to try and go for a 3D look to Baby Shark by having his body positioned at an angle instead of the flat 2D image he always appears in. I also wanted to try my take at drawing Baby Shark by trying to mash the art styles of the reference pics together, and the result just looks like I took the 2D design and gave it outlines.

That's honestly all I have to say here. Hope you like it, and hope you found this crossover as weirdly adorable as I did.
