i don't know what's the idea but it looks to me like a king..a king of a beautiful still country where everything goes the way it has to..a king but not a glorious person,not noble,not enchanting.yet a powerful ruler but a bit close minded,his power is in the force and strength,not in the wisdom of thoughts and actions.he isn't stupid but he uses his smartness for material and non-idealistic purposes.his people don't hate him because he's not a tyrant.he could not be because he's not evil enough.he has absolutely no sense of humor,at the moment he has just had lunch and tries to escape in his own gray thoughts from the neverending grumbling of his envious rude queen...
does it have something to do with the original story? :]

It's amazing that you can see all that in it. Actually I just do these pictures with no real intentions. I suppose it's unconscious. But in the picture I'm developing he is a king and he does have a queen. I'll put the underpainting i've done up so you can have a look.
