Garr (c) Gareth Rehal. Garr the Goth wolf reclines sadly in a graveyard at dusk. There are a lot of things that still niggle me about this one, particularly about the figure, and a few things that I quite like. I often struggle with shadows. I think I've learned a lot from this one, though.Related content

you give so much life to the characters you draw.. which i guess is to be expected since you're an animator, but you also know how to compose a pic well and get an atmosphere accross. i love the shadows and the sunset sky here. lovely!

I think this piece works real well, in terms of depth and volume. Because of the flat black silhouettes, it starts to get a little flat in that area, but works out alright.

Adobe Photoshop 6.0. Play around with it long enough and you can do just about anything with this program.

i like how you brought the caharctewr into greater promnece on the background, i know it would deafeat the purpose of the picture, but i was just thinking the character as a silohette would work so well with the background. I think you did nicely on the shadows, especially the strips of light falling back from the grave.
