Description
Here is Jetta of the Misfits updated for the new millenium. My friend Burl (he came up with theinitial design, and from there we collaborated until we came up with the final product) and I wanted Jetta to have a more punk/ goth look to her. She's a tough British chick and we wanted that aspect of her personality to take center stage.Hope you all like. Thanks again to Burl Galbreath for all his great ideas.

Darnit, I was so excited because I thought I was going to be the first to point out how strikingly similar to Minnie Driver she looks. Great design, you always pose the female body in a way that is just so fitting. Even though the background is white, she looks like she takes up the whole canvas, very nicely done.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you use to colour in your your drawings?

Thanks. I don't mind you asking at all. When I do these particular drawings, I sketch them out in pencil, scan them into my computer and then outline and color them in photoshop using the polygonal tool and the paint bucket. I use layers for each different part (ie skin, shirt, boot, make-up) so that if I mess up, it's easy to go back and make changes.

Jem is a cartoon that was on in 85-86. You're too young to remember her I think. It's a great cartoon, I highly recommend checking it out, it's totally 80s.

She was a bit in the middle of the Holograms and the Misfits if im not mistaken, yes?
The top design is rather nice - not usually a fan of anything polka dotted but this works! And I looooooooove the skirt!!! Great Job ^_^

Stormer was the "nice" Misfit. Jetta was just as bad as Pizazz and Roxy. Jetta came later on when Raya was intoduced in the episodes "The Talent Search Parts 1 and 2".
Her polka dot design is in homage to her original top design. She had a black and white giant polka dot shirt, and she had black and white strpied pants, hence the striped tights.

Oh btw I was just wondering...Are ya gonna do Clash by any chance? I would really love to see her, for some reason I always liked her even though all she ever did was get used by the Misfits, Okay also you seem to know a lot about Jem also and I was wondering, Did Clash acctually play an instrument? I know a lot of things say she didn't and ya never see her with one, but the doll and the box art of her had a small stringed instrument, like an autoharp or something...Okay I am gonna stop rambling now!

Yes I will be doing Clash. Raya is up next and then Clash. And at some point I wanna get Jerrica done too, and of course Rio and the Stingers, Techrat, Eric Raymond, and Video, Astral and Regine.
The closest thing Clash played to an instrument was her wrist symbols, other than that she never played an instrument on the show. The "instrument" that came with the doll was a "distortion modual" that Clash could use to help create mischief. I don't know why she came with it, she never used it in the show.

Hey dun forget Danse, Synergy, and at least the 3 main StarLight Girls...Krissie, Ashley, and Ba-nee! hehe Nah I am playing...Um yus now that you mention it, I do remember about the distortion modual she used it to block the transmition of radio waves or something knocking out Synergy...and Yus I remember her name-sake the symbols, Like in 'Last Resorts' when she used them to cause the avalanche that trapped Jem and her bent Jem Star earing in the cave with a bear! Umm I love these you are doing and I am so happy to find some one as into it as me...The Clash doll also came with a head set mic for some reason, Raya...hmm I can't wait to see her, just out of curiosity who was your fav Hologram etc.?

Let's see, that's a tough question, but my fav Hologram would have to be Jem/ Jerrica. She runs a music company, a foundation for foster girls and is an international popstar with a secret idenity, the girl is talented, lol.
As for the Misfits, I'd have to say Pizazz, her tantrums and her voice are great!
And in the Stingers, I liked Riot because it was cool to have a male singer, but I also really liked Rapture and her ways of making people part with their money, lol.

Ummm lets seee...I loved Jem/Jerrica, she along with Aja were my favs for the holograms, as for the Misfits...Stormer was my fav I just loved her sweet charms, even if it usually was clouded by fear of Roxy and Pizzaz, but I loved Clash also, though she wasn't considered an actual Misfit, for the STingers, I like Minx(just something about the whorish types) But Rapture's occult dealings made it an istant liking...but dispite Riot's personality I loved the fact there was a male band member! Any who that about sums it up! Hey are you ever on AIM or something??

Thank you very much. I'm a huge Jem fan, I have almost all of the toys. I just need a few fashions and the Rama Llama and my collection will be complete! And I can't wait for the 3rd season of Jem to be out on DVD!

Thanks. Our main goal while doing this was just giving them a more modern look, while still keeping the character in tact and recognizable. And Jetta had that black and white theme going on which made her stand out amongst the Misfits, so it was important we kept that. Plus it's cool, lol.
