Description This is your typical MRE, or Meal Ready to Eat. These suckers pack about 2000 to 2400 calories PER MEAL And at times, we'll eat three a day! But thankfully, we have a real chow hall near here, so we only have to eat an MRE for lunch. You can get some for yourself if you have a military surplus store around where you live, but be warned...some are worse than others...

Lots of people seem to think the gum is a laxative.

Nothing like an MRE to keep you "regular", specially on those long convoys down MSR Tampa. Forget Immodium AD, what you need is a No. 11 MRE.

I personally prefered the "Corn Beef Hash" from the olden days of MRE consumption. Just pour about three bottles of Tabasco Sauce on it and it almost taste like real food... Right!

First thing I did when I returned to Ft. Eustis was take a long shower and scarf down a double whopper with cheese and a large order of onion rings. Tasted like heaven.

NEVER, EVER COMPLAIN ABOUT FAST FOOD AGAIN, YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE HOW GOOD YOU HAVE IT.

my cousin brought me some mre's about 2 years ago. It was pork chow mein (sp?). All I remember about it was that it looked nasty, but tasted ok. it was kinda salty though. he liked to pour that little thing of tabasco sauce in his.

The only ones you can (or want to) add water to are the packet in the upper left hand corner, which is a water-activated heater. (You should know a little about that, you did take Chem with Mrs. Wink! ) The other is the beverage base powder, which you can either put into a water bottle, a canteen cup, or do what I do, just pour water into the packet and drink it from there.

Like I've said before to some other deviants, some are better than others, and it's obvious by ~AlohaDevilDog 's comment, he likes the Chili Mac one the best. My fav one is the Beef Ravioli.

Not really, but some are better than others...The meal I photographed was Chicken with Cavatelli (pasta shells), it's one of the better ones.
