Family AU, where Adrian and fem!Lance (Lasair) have started a family and have three children. A boy named Guido and two little sisters (twins) named Kayleen and Ida.
Because of Lasair being a vampire and Adrian's genetic mutation the children all end up as what most people would consider monsters with abilities from both parents, though Kayleen is probably the one with the least self control. She was the first to reveal the mutation when she was still only a baby.
Adrian, terrified that people would fear, hurt and hunt his daughter throughout her life would break down and cry. He'd hold his beloved daughter close and apologize to her over and over for the curse he had passed on to her along with the vampire blood of Lasair which was already bad enough in itself.

Once the children grew older and all of them showed signs of the mixed mutation, Adri tried his very best to stay positive and make sure that the children always knew that they were loved no matter what. He did his best to teach them to control the mutation as the vampire problem wouldn't show up until later during the mid-teens and the genetics that they had recieved from him were a more pressing problem. Every day he would make them big, varied lunches to bring to school and always hug and kiss them goodbye with a soft "I love you" before they left, no matter how embarrassing the kids thought it was. He'd put notes in their lunchoboxes with small messages like "Be good and listen to the teacher", "Don't hurt the other kids, you're stronger than them", "Remember to be kind", "You can overcome anything" and many more things like that. He'd always sign the notes with "I will always love you. /Dad".
Although he would try his best to raise the kids properly, he would most often be the one to comfort the children when they were sad or upset, while Lasair would take more of the dicipline-related work. As the kids grew older it became necessary to divide the parenting like this as the children, once they tasted blood and got the strength of true vampires, became dangerous for Adrian to handle by himself when they were upset. Despite his ability, if caught off guard he could easily be torn to shreds by accident if he tried to stop a fight between the siblings.

To see Adrian get angry or truly upset at his children would be a very rare sight, as he would prefer to talk things through with them in a calm manner rather than yelling at them. That doesn't mean he would be a complete pushover though. He does know how to say no and how to be stern with them if they disobey.

Adrian, being aware of this, tried to tell her numerous times that she was loved and wanted, but eventually he couldn't persuade her to stay any longer. Guido was the only one that Kayleen would listen to if asked to stay. But Guido couldn't always be home.

One day when Adrian and the twins were home alone, Kayleen declared that she would be leaving. Adrian knew that he didn't have the power to stop her. Ida would go with her too. The twins were inseperable. All he could do was to hug her one last time, once again telling her that he loved her and she would always be welcome home again before she left the house. She was only fifteen, but alone Adrian could do nothing to stop her, so he had to let both her and Ida go. After they left he would fall to his knees and cry, knowing that he would probably never see any of them again during his short human life.
