“Watch it, Runt.”

“…Uru?”

“What?”

“I know this isn’t... ideal or anything, for you or either of us really, but I’m pretty happy about this. It’s a beautiful day, and everybody's getting along, for once. I look good and you look good. The makeup looks really nice on you, for what it’s worth. And we’ll still get to argue about things, just more 'professionally' or something, you know?”

“…”

“And... maybe we can get actually get to really hang out together, after this. We’ll get to hang out more now, won’t we?”

“Well… yeah, obviously…”

“…Uru?”

“Yes, Moyo?”

“…you did get the makeup done, ri-?“

“Zip it, Shrimpy.”

An AU idea of Rinjapine’s TLK-verse. Basically what would have happened if (her!) Mohatu had actually talked to his brother about the succession crisis, instead of listening to his asshat of a dad and just assuming the worst would happen if he didn’t 'follow the old Pride Laws'. (Which I doubt were even Pride Land laws in the first place… friggin' Jaleel! )
And so kids, the moral of the story is; NEVER ASSUME THINGS. Just go and really find out!

Still, this turn of events could really derail things, couldn’t it?
Would the Spirit Pride still antagonize the Pride Lands? Would Uru and Moyo end up repeating Rinja’s story, or follow their own path? Would there be no need for Ahadi in the future and therefore no Mufasa or Taka to inherit?
And if the Spirit Pride did decide to go to War, would Kipedo still exist and maybe become an enemy?? 8C

ANYWAY
Moyo and Uru didn’t spend much time together as cubs and they bicker a lot, but they’re pretty okay with each other, all things considered. Moyo’s a little bit smaller than average for a lion and noticeably shorter compared to his cousin, but he has never, ever let that get him down, much to Uru’s annoyance.
I don’t know why on earth Moyo turned into such a snarky little cutie-pie in my head, but that’s what happened. He also sounds like James McAvoy, for some reason.
