Description I'd mentioned it in the past, but I thought I'd actually go through with it this time around.

Tutorials! I'll probably make them as the spirit moves me or if I get requests for specific techniques that I think are worth making tutorials for.

This one is for my lovely who asked about it a while back, and me being the lazypants I am, only just got around to it.

There is a video timelapse that accompanies the tutorial, check it out right here: [link]

Post questions if you have them!

Just a quick question. I have seen loads of people using this but... how do you actually remove it? Nobody ever seems to say XD

The wax? Just pick it out with your fingers. Spirit gum remover or any solvent remover adhesive remover will help loosen up the wax, but it comes out with some scrubbing and soap and water.

I have a question. But I need you to be super honest.
How does it look up close and in person? I'm still having trouble with covering my eyebrows (there black and bushy ) and I have tried many tutorials, but have not had any 'up close' success. I'm thinking about using this method, but how is the outcome? And the Kryolan product?

The eyebrow plastic and spirit gum really help diminish the appearance of hair under all the makeup. However if you have thicker brows this makes it significantly more difficult. There still will be, and always will be (without the aid of prosthetics) a texture difference between your eyebrows and your skin. If you really want a clean bare skinned look I'd really suggest you pluck your eyebrows down to a smaller shape, this doesn't eliminate the problem but with less hair, there is less to cover, and less texture difference to notice.
The method I use looks pretty good at a conversational distance, but as I said, a texture difference can be noticed. If you want full face high resolution pictures taken of you and expect to have a seamless difference in your brow cover, you'll have to resort to photoshop. It's just sort of the nature of the beast. It also helps to just keep practicing, because it's not something I picked up and could do well after only one application.
Here are a few other pictures of that technique, if it helps you make any conclusions for yourself.

Wow! I've never thought of doing this before. And I can say from seeing you guys, not only does this photograph well, but also looks great in real life.

Try not to look so EXCITED with you photos. Your enthusiasm is blinding!!! lol

Aw thank you! I think sometimes just having your eyebrows match your wig isn't QUITE enough, its just one of those finishing touches that can really pump up the look of your costume.

I AM ALWAYS EXCITED. But nah, my lips turn down, so when I have my neutral face on I look like I'm scowling. I get asked if I'm mad about something ALL the time.

Nuri-hyau [2011-01-20 06:15:26 +0000 UTC]

Fabulous. Additionally, would you use a translucent powder over the finished product to keep it from smudging, or is that unnecessary?

AnimosityCosplay In reply to Nuri-hyau [2011-01-20 06:23:16 +0000 UTC]

Yes indeed! Making a sweeping generalization here, but once you've got your makeup looking how you want it, it never hurts to use a setting powder before you call it quits.
