Super cute
I'm really hoping Ai didn't go antagonist, and his motives aren't just to bring his friends back, but something else. What if he learned there was more to lightening than imagined. Sol tech was responsible for the Hanoi project, despite Dr. Kogami being in charge of it, Sol Tech seemed to be hiding more than what was bargaining for, almost like part of the ignises creation was meant to be for what Queen did to Gore and Earth . . . and maybe ties into Link Vrains' true purpose and those Soltis robots, something AI may have learned about, though we may not know til half way into the season, if not after a few episodes, which honestly maybe where they're going at. Make us think Ai lost it, but in reality is trying to expose the truth. Unless his back-up got corrupted or he got played during his quest to restore his friends (and maybe live amongst the humans) it's most likely he stumbled upon something big and needed Roboppy's help because he refused to drag his partner and human friends into the fight, especially since they can pick up where he failed, and is most likely leading Yusaku onto the real truth. at least that's my guess.

I think that Ai's motive is either to bring his friends back to life or it may have to do with taking over SOL technologies and use Soltis Robots for something so I don't know. He isn't the same after the back-up and the Ignis's death made it worse. Ai's personality right now like Yusaku in season one but has some positivity in him. I can agree that the reason he kept Roboppy around is because he didn't want Yusaku and the others to be involved out of respect and knowing that they won't approve his decision which may lead him going against Yusaku which is the last thing he wanted and Yusaku would probably feel the same.

no kidding . . . cause it seems like he's taking Yusaku's path, like he did in season 1: Revenge. What he did to Queen was probably for what she did to Earth (Which I don't doubt he'll admit he went too far, but not lightening far), and Akira's just a distraction to keep Yusaku and co out of danger, and possibly to leak info to them in case he fails: If anything, the real antagonist who was truly responsible for the Hanoi project, what happened to Varis's dad, possibly Lightening's villainy (I have head cannons for that), and the true intentions of the SOLTIS robots, is most likely the head of Sol tech, and it's most likely their King (Seriously, the other admins are named after chess pieces, so it makes sense).
it almost reminds me of Jaden in a way; Ai lost his joy and happiness like Jaden did for awhile in season 4, and his desire for revenge, to bring back his friends, protect his partner and other friends, and possibly live amongst the humans (Since the cyberverse is gone and varis won't leave them be unattended) could all stem from one feeling: helplessness. He couldn't do anything and probably felt worthless compared to Yusaku and the others and feels the only way he could redeem himself and be useful is by doing that. Though I got a feeling Yusaku's going to snap him out of it so they can take on the real threat: together.

I can see that happening and if Ai is not the real antagonist then it's most likely the king chess piece or Lightening. (If the writers choose to revive the Igins) I never thought about Ai character development is similar to Jaden's character and it's interesting to how Yusaku to try to confront Ai and convince what he is doing is wrong. He'll probably will give Ai a chance to stop his plan until Ai did something drastic that involve innocent bystanders.

most likely. I don't think Ai will do anything to the innocent intentionally (except maybe scare them out of link Vrains, because I wonder if the main badguy's plan involves those new robots from Soltis and link vrains, if not something like queen did to Gore and Earth) and that would be interesting to see if Yusaku does confront Ai about it, Ai might bring up Yusaku's desire for revenge. though in the end I doubt it's Ai that's the badguy, but rather trying to stop the real one, but it could possibly lead him down the path Yusaku took in season 1, something he doesn't want his friend to do.

I wouldn't be surprise if Yusaku tells Ai that revenge isn't the answer and Ai call him out for being a hypocrite. (which I don't blame him) Maybe Ai does go after the real culprit but they did something immoral and shift the blame to Ai. This will make most of the characters go after him and Roboppy.

no kidding.
I could see that too, and Yusaku would learn the truth, though if that did happen I think Ai would go with it to lead him and the others to it, especially to keep the baddies off their tails. Like he wants all that burden so Yusaku doesn't have any of it, especially since Ai wants to be more useful. that's just me.
