Its actually a meme. After nintendo showed Toadette turning into a small peach because of a new crown power up, someone on twitter made a funny pic of bowser doing it, now Bowsette and a lot more of princess-style characters are everywhere.

It's basically because of Peachette who is Toadette after the Super Crown power up has been used. While it would make more sense for the name of this lovely koopa girl to be Peacher the name everyone latched on to was Bowsette. Basically making Peachette the odd one out in terms of their names.

Its the name n intendo give to the characters that wear the crown and turn into a princess. The same happens to every character, but people are actually being very creative and giving new names, like "Boohime, Kameach, Chomp-chan" and more.
