Description
Another critters from my setting. Arnes are the most common animals in the Ismaar forests. They are some kind of mix between a dog (or wolf) and a deer (or antelope). As you can see below, this animal is not entirely herbivorous, they can feed on grass of course, but also can grab the lizard or frog, destroy the nest, and will never renounce by the scraps left behind by other Ismaar inhabitants. These critters are live in herds, moderately aggressive, they are attacking rarely, but it's not inoffensive animals.По-русски ТУТ

Давно уже планировала написать ещё здесь, помимо того, что было сказано в группе. Честно говоря, уже не помню, что конкретно я там писала, т.ч. если что-то будет повторяться, то это уж от общего восторга от идеи. Образ целостный и очень интересный, смотрится свежо и реалистично, складно, хорошая очень смесь таких разнородных идей, элементов оленя, волка и динозавра (не только сросшиеся в щит рога, но и форма хвоста, впрочем, для млекопитающих Исмаара это распространённая черта). От не знаю по разговорам в группе спрашивал ли кто про эти своеобразные серёжки, свясающие с челюстей, но они весьма интригуют и структурой (просто ли это шерсть или под шерстью скрывается кожная серёжка), и назначением. И, конечно же, я в восторге от этих шпор. Они так славно получаются, так естественно. У меня с этим проблемы, т.к. есть вид животных с Рьемпазийля с подобными шпорами, очень старая идея, но всё время получается не так, как надо... А у тебя - шикарно

Do you have any story of what gave you the idea to make Arne (arnes?), or maybe why this design spoke to you? I'm interested

The idea to create this species was inspired by my obsession with mixing different animals. I was fascinated by the idea of creating a creature that can look quite harmless and peacefully grazing in a meadow, but at the same time can tearing a meat with sharp teeth and be quite dangerous to their enemies. I was wondering how would look an animal like that, so I drew arnes. Most species of Ismaar have features of several kind of animals and the evolution of this world has chosen a slightly different path. As for the collar, it plays the same role as the ceratopsians collar:
-it protects the head and neck;
-bright pattern that appearing on the collar is a sign of threat and aggression;
-and finally the collar, pierced by many blood vessels, plays an important role in the heat exchange (but this is true only for the southern species, not for the northern, cause their collar has no windows).
