I was a little surprise to see this under "Digital Art / Mixed Media" because it looks so much like an oil painting. Have you considered painting with oils? You'd probably do really well with it.

I usually use as base a photography (own or stock). scanned textures I painted on canvas with acryl and photoshop for manipulation and digital painting. thank you
