Description
This is probably the most difficult picture I have ever drawn. I guess I spent more than 50 hours on it and it needs fine-tuning a bit but I hate to see it nowEDIT: I corrected shading and some lines so they looks sharper now. Finally I consider this drawing to be finished.
A steam loco 498.022 called Albatross.

Great perspective. Very cool drawing style you have. It's something between realism and cartoon. (because of the dark lines) Amazing job!

Thank you very much for your comment! Interesting thing about calling my drawing style very cool. One of my friends told me: "Don't do such noticeable outlines." And now who is right?

Hahah! In a bad mood I'd say that too because it's neither realistic, neither cartoon so then, what is it? Well, art can be anything and this combination is very cool. I wouldn't do it myself because I prefer realism but the way you draw is different, it striking and therefore very cool. Keep it up!

Thank you very much for your comment! I must admit I had to take a long break before finishing this drawing because it was really exhausting and I didn't want to see it for some time. But I am very contented with the result now

...Again Annie
Thank you for your kind words,
and your open mindedness toward other genres of art!
Realism is something I have done for many years,
but got bored of the drawing inside the lines per'se,
and have since been pushing boundaries!
Thanks Again my friend!...

Thank you very much for your time to comment.
It probably looks better than the reference photo because 1) in real, the bridge is disfigured with rust and graffiti
2) my camera sucks

I am amazed at your drawing ability and attention to detail. Your trains are simply marvelous, and this one is no exception. Your shading is awesome, and how you were able to create the steam is astounding. I like this piece very much.

Thank you very much for your kind comment (I know some artists don't like too much realistic drawings/paintings). Yep, the steam was for me the most problematic part of the picture but it turned out surprisingly very well (in my opinion ).

I really like the perspective, it's not easy to draw in such an angle where there is much distortion, but such a nice result!
the details are great, too

Thanks a lot, lately I've tried photorealism but with my older drawings that is not the focus, they are from my imagination. Not a lot of people take a look at the older ones anyway.
I like the variety in your drawings, very talented!

I actually think it is great when an artist is able to make realistic drawings/paintings and also let his/her imagination run wild
Thank you very much for your compliment I try my best.

because the angle is different the train is closer in your picture

Yeah, exactly. I like both pictures β there is an interesting effect made by bridge construction in the first picture but the second picture with the loco being close to me seemed to me better for drawing.
