Description (Slovak title: "Živly")

This is the 1,5m x 1,2 m quilt I made in June 2015 by the superposition of fabrics. It unfortunately got damaged during the process of finalization (remember to immerse your fabrics before you use them) but I managed to take a picture of the black & white version before the damage happened. I was quite disappointed at first but then I got used to this new "color" version and now I like both of them .
Which one do you like better?

I love how you used different patterned fabrics. It's so beautiful and wonderfully captures the spirit of the horse.

Hi! Your piece has been featured in my Monthly Feature Challenge: EQUINES as an exceptional piece of artisan craftery! I hope that you'll enjoy any extra attention that it garners for you and that you'll consider participating in the challenge yourself!

I think I really like the one with color. Sometimes happy accidents happen in art. It's up to you to decide which is best, though.

As someone who rides horses, to me, this quilt simply embodies what it is like to be an equestrian. The struggle is so real. You're relationship with a horse is one that faces every element possible, plus yourself and the horse. Your horse may dig its hooves in at a time when you are struggling in reaching the next step creating frustration, but you brave it anyway. You get thrown, you pick yourself up and dust yourself off and get back on. You ride in stifling heat, unerring rain (hopefully inside though!), chilling snow, biting cold winds...there is no off season. Everything is always in motion. There is no "off" in your brain.

There is something beautiful about the sepia, but the black & white is quite magical, isn't it? It's very bold while this one has movement and whispering grandeur. Like the beginning of a new day while the other one has a mysterious vibe like at night.

Amazing work! I am very impressed with your skills! The horse is very realistic and beautifully shadowed and detailed, the background dynamic. Everything is in motion, conveying clouds, wind, and rain, and the running horse extremely well. That you did this with fabric is really delightful; you have a wonderful eye for patterns and shapes.

This is amazing! I love how well-defined the muscles are and also the variation in patterns - the little stars and spirals give it a nice dreamy feel.

This is an absolutely stunning work and I must say that I even prefer this version with its sepia touches to the black-and-white one. I love those lacy bits that could be either drifting sand or stylized air currents, in particular.

The black and white is pretty sharp looking , but I do like how it turned out with that little bit of color. Sometimes errors are a cool effect that give it alittle more charm Still think it came out pretty neat though
