I really like the background, especially the palm tree and the sun. I love the painterly lines throughout the background that give it direction and movement. The little patch of dark blue water and orange yellow highlights kind of distracts me from the rest of the picture, and I think it might have been okay to leave it the same colour as the rest of the water. It kind of looks like Totodile is about to slip down a waterfall or a series of rapids, and he just doesn't care.
