Okay, so I am doing this to hopefully help a good pal of mine. Maybe you will also enjoy it.

This will eventually be He-man!!! YAY.

There are steps to setting up a shot like this. I like to lay out the shape of the figure as you can see. Also the focal point to me is the closest item to the viewer. Which in this case is the hand and sword. So everything elsed perspective is built around that focal point. Remember to give the muscles their due. The shoulder is often over looked in a shot like this. We may think of the chest or arm muscles because he needs to be strong. Heman wont be moving that sword much no delt's. Also remember the neck. Even though this is a slightly upward shot the neck is still there and it should show. Also remember that no matter how fit you are, when the body bends, folds apear. So in this shot the joints, the jaw to neck area, need to have those. Not so much to make him look old but enough. I can see some revisions I am going to make, can you? Let me know what you see and we'll see if you are right. This is the best stage. When I post step two it will be tighter, but I will have taken advantage of the light line work to fix up any errors before precious details are added in.
